 HAARLEM (Neth.) -
The best baseball- and softball-players of the 2016 season in the highest Dutch leagues were honored on Saturday (October 22).
At the Lichtfabriek in Haarlem, 21 awards were handed out during the KNBSB Baseball Softball Stars Awards.
Dinet Oosting (FysioExpert Olympia Haarlem) was named Most Valuable Player of the 2016 season in the softball Golden League, while Dagmar Bloeming (DSS) was named Best Pitcher for the third time in her career.
In baseball, Nick Urbanus (L&D Amsterdam Pirates) was the Most Valuable Player of the 2016 season in the baseball big league, while Belgian righthander Kenny Van Den Branden (Curaçao Neptunus) won the award for Best Pitcher.
For the first time there were two hosts tonight, as Jason Houtkamp and Norbert van Oosterhout guided the attendees through the evening.
It was the first time for both to host he event.
Jason Houtkamp's father Andy Houtkamp has been the host several years in the past and is the recordholder in this category.
