  New European Baseball Softball Tournament awarded to Hoofddorp for 2018

Last weekend (September 30-October 1), the Executive Committee of the European Baseball Confederation (CEB) met in Zagreb and has awarded the National Team Competitions for 2018.
The playing sites for the club-competitions (European Cups) will be awarded at a later date, as it is still possible to register for countries/cities to organize these tournaments.
The CEB announced the tournament-sites on Wednesday (October 4).
Next year, the new tournament Super 6 Baseball Softball will be introduded.
The organization of the first edition has been awarded to Hoofddorp (Netherlands) and will be played September 19-23.
Earlier this year, when the plans for this new tournament were created and unveiled, the Netherlands was one of the first countries to express its interest to host the event with Hoofddorp being the prime site.
In this new event, the six best European baseball-teams and softball-teams will participate in the 5-day tournament.
Participating in the baseball-tournament are the top-6 of the European Championship 2016, being the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic and Belgium.
Participating in the softball-tournament are the top-6 of the European Championship 2017, being the Netherlands, Italy, Great Britain, the Czech Republic, Russia and Greece.
Other baseball-tournaments that were awarded are:
 European Under-12 Championship to Budapest (Hungary), July 2-8.
European Under-15 Championship to Sisak (Croatia), July 16-22.
European Under-18 Championship to Grosseto (Italy), July 9-15.
European Under-23 Championship Qualifiers to Sweden (site to be decided), August 6-12 and a to be decided second location.
European Championship Qualifier C-Pool to Dublin (Ireland), July 23-29 and a to be decided second location.
Play-Off Series for European Championship 2019 to Vienna (Austria), dates to be decided, 3-game series between 2017 B-Pool Qualifier Winners Lithuania and Austria.
