HOOFDDORP (Neth.) -
On Saturday-evening (October 28), the best baseball- and softball-players of the 2017 in the highest Dutch leagues were honored.
That was done during the KNBSB Baseball Softball Stars Awards, which this time was held at Claus Park Collection in Hoofddorp.
Dinet Oosting (FysioExpert Olympia Haarlem) is the Most Valuable Player of the 2017 season in the Golden League, which is the highest Dutch league, while righthander Dagmar Bloeming won the award for Best Pitcher.
Both were also the winners last year, making this the second MVP Award for Dinet Oosting and the fourth Best Pitcher Award for Dagmar Bloeming.
Danny Rombley (L&D Amsterdam Pirates) is the Most Valuable Player of the 2017 season in the Dutch big league, while veteran righthander Rob Cordemans (also L&D Amsterdam Pirates) again won the award for Best Pitcher.
For Rombley, this was his first MVP Award, while Cordemans won his tenth Best Pitcher Award.
For the second time, Jason Houtkamp was the host tonight and guided the attendees through the evening after making his debut last year.
KNBSB Executive Director Bart Volkerijk opened and closed the evening, but also handed out some of the Awards.
Other Awards were handed out by Juni Francisca, Head Coach of the Netherlands Women Softball Team, Steve Janssen, the Manager of the Netherlands Baseball Team and KNBSB-boardmembers Petra Arends and Frits Mulder.
