BUSSUM (Neth.) - The 26th edition of the annual In Memoriam Charles Urbanus, Sr. Tournament in Bussum started with a lot of rain, forcing the organization to cancel the entire schedule of three games on the first day. In the afternoon, it was decided to make a new schedule for Sunday with the four participating teams playing in the morning. Before the two games, a draw decided which teams would play each other. The winners of these games then would advance to the final, while the losing teams would play for third and fourth place. In the first new game, host Mr. Cocker HCAW shutout Dutch champion Corendon Kinheim to reach the final, while in the other 'semi-final' Konica Minolta Pioniers registered a 14-0 shutout vs. ADO, which therefore would play in the third place-game.

HCAW scored the lone run in this game in the third inning. Kinheim-starter Cliff Foster walked lead-off batter Ralph Milliard, who then advanced on a sac-bunt by Jermaine Esprit and a single by Sidney Ensermo, who was 3-for-4. Milliard then scored on a force play-grounder by Randy Daal.

The Bussum-squad stranded ten runners, six of which were in scoring position. HCAW failed to open the score in the second inning when they got their first two batters on second and third base. Lead-off hitter Ronald Jaarsma reached on a fielding error, then Ricky Daal followed with a double. But pitcher Cliff Foster then struckout the next three batters to end HCAW's scoring opportunity.

In the fifth inning, HCAW got runners on first and second base with two outs, but couldn't score, then left the bases loaded in the seventh inning. With two outs and Jermaine Esprit (fielder's choice) on first base, closer Duko Jansen gave up a single to Sidney Ensermo, then saw the two runners advance on a wild pitch and loaded the bases by walking Randy Daal, but the righthander ended the inning and the game by striking out Ronald Jaarsma.

Kinheim stranded seven runners, four of them in scoring position. In the second inning, HCAW-starter Adam Sowell walked Bryan Engelhardt and Tjerk Smeets with one out, but then a flyout and strikeout followed. In the fifth, Kinheim got runners on second and third base. With one out, new pitcher Joey Eijpe gave up a double to Wouter Heemskerk and walked Denny Beljaards. The two advanced on a passed ball, but then the lefthander struckout the next two batters.

After HCAW turned a double play in the sixth inning, Kinheim got its last chance to score in the seventh, but left two more runners. With two outs and new pitcher Rutger Zwaal on the mound, pinch-hitter Jason Halman singled, then Denny Beljaars walked. However, next batter Danny Rombley grounded out to end the at bat.
