FysioExpert Olympia Haarlem vs. De Glaskoning Twins (Game One)
In the opener, Twins broke an 1-1 tie by scoring two runs in the top of the seventh inning and hold on to the lead, winning 3-1.

Twins opened the score in the first at bat off of Eva Voortman, who went the distance for Olympia Haarlem. The lefthander had a great outing, striking out 16 (!) batters, but ended up being the losing pitcher.

The last time that a pitcher struckout 16 batters in one game was during the 2014 season. Back then, Ashley Lanz (Alcmaria Victrix) and Kirsten Scheele (Sparks Haarlem) both struckout 16 batters. The last time, a pitcher of Olympia Haarlem struckout this many batters was in 2013 when Lindsey Meadows struckout 14.

In the first inning, Voortman walked lead-off hitter Lieke Duffhues, who then advanced on a passed ball. An error on a pop-fly by Sandy Lauwers led to the next runner, then a wild pitch moved both runners into scoring position. Hereafter, Duffhues scored the first run on a sacrifice fly by Sophie Bugter.

In the bottom of the first, Olympia Haarlem also got its batter on base when Eva Voortman singled, but she was called out moments later for leaving first base too early. A double by Dinet Oosting followed, but she stranded on second base.

In the top of the third inning, Twins left two runners behind, while Voortman also struckout three batters. Olympia Haarlem then came alongside in its third at bat off Kaitlyn Medlam. Maranca Ham led off with a single, moved on a grounder by Pauline Prade, then scored when Dinet Oosting reached on an error with two outs.

In each of the next three innings, Twins left a runner behind on first base, while Eva Voortman struckout nine batters. In the meantime, Olympia Haarlem was silenced by Medlam, who retired the side in order in the fourth and sixth at bat. Olympia left a runner on second base in the fifth.

In the top of the seventh inning, Twins decided the game. With one out, Mandy van Alebeek walked and Lieke Duffhues singled. After an infield-fly accounted for the second out, veteran Sandy Lauwers connected for a 2-run double to give Twins a 3-1 lead.

In the bottom of the seventh, Rachel van Veen singled with one out for Olympia. Hereafter, Tyla Morrison lined out, then a grounder ended the game.

FysioExpert Olympia Haarlem vs. De Glaskoning Twins (Game Two)
In the second game, Olympia Haarlem led 2-0 after three innings, but then rallied for eight runs in the bottom of the fourth to end the game with a 10-run difference, mercy-rule, 10-0 victory.

Winning pitcher Mariëlle Vleugels allowed only two basehits. Both were hit in the first at bat, when Twins threatened to open the score. With one out, Minke Blok and Sandy Lauwers both singled, but hereafter, the next two batters struckout.

Twins also got baserunners in the next two at bats. In the second, Kelly De Lannoy reached on a error, but was forced out. Later, a walk for Mandy van Alebeek led to a second runner, but Twins again left two runners behind.

In the third, Minke Blok and Sandy Lauwers led off with walks, but again Twins was unable to score, as two more runners stranded.

Olympia Haarlem also left four runners in its first two at bats off of Femke Duffhues. In the first, Eva Voortman led off with a single and Mariëlle Vleugels walked with two outs, but both were left behind. In the scond, with two outs, Judith Buschman and Pauline Prade both singled, but stranded.

In the third inning, Olympia Haarlem again left two runners, but this time also scored two runs. Dinet Oosting led off with a walk and moved on a sacrifice bunt by Maranca Ham. Hereafter, Mariëlle Vleugels and Stephanie Ruiter followed with back-to-back, RBI-doubles to make it 2-0.

After Twins was retired in order in the top of the fourth inning, Olympia Haarlem rallied for eight runs, which led to a mercy-rule ending. Three runs were unearned, as the Twins-defense committed two errors, while the Olympia-offense produced five hits. When the inning began, Sheila van der Tang took over the pitching for Twins, but she got the bases loaded when Pauline Prade singled, Eva Voortman reached on a bunt-single and Dinet Oosting walked. A following walk for Maranca Ham led to the first run in the inning, then Voortman stole the plate moments later. When next batter Mariëlle Vleugels added a runscoring double, it led to a pitching change. Nina Oomes took over, but she walked Stephanie Ruiter which loaded the bases again. The first out then was recorded when Ham was eliminated in a rundown after a pick-off by the catcher, which followed the walk for Ruiter. That also moved the runners to the next base and they both scored when Tyla Morrison followed with a single. Hereafter, the bases got loaded again when Brenda Beers and Judith Buschman walked. An error on a grounder by Pauline Prade led to two more runs, then Eva Voortman followed with a walk-off single that lifted the lead to 10-0 and ended the game.
