Tex Town Tigers vs. Oolders Omaco Sparks Haarlem (Game One)
Sparks Haarlem decided the opener right away in the first inning by scoring four runs off of starter Cheyenne Scheffer. The righthander gave up four consecutive basehits, which gave the Haarlem-squad an early lead. Anne Blaauwgeers led off with a double, then Kehli Washington followed with a bunt-single and stole second base. Both runners were unable to advance when next batter Damishah Charles reached on an infield-hit. Hereafter, Maxime van Dalen followed with a 2-run single to open the score. Van Dalen then advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Virginie Anneveld, which kept Charles at third base. Moments later, she scored on a grounder by Jenny Kinburn, then the next run was added on a following single by Cindy van der Zanden to make it a 4-0 score.

In the next three innings, Sparks Haarlem was held scoreless by Cheyenne Scheffer. She was supported with a double play in the second inning and saw Sparks Haarlem leave two runners behind in the third and one in the fourth.

The Haarlem-team added two more runs in the top of the fifth. Damishah Charles led off with a single, then the bases got loaded when Maxime van Dalen and Virginie Anneveld walked. That led to a pitching change and Anna-Bè Bartels took over for Cheyenne Scheffer. An infield-fly and a foul-out then accounted for two outs, but hereafter, Tammie Lijbers delivered a 2-run single to make it 6-0.

In the sixth, Sparks Haarlem again scored two runs. With one out, Kehli Washington hit an inside-the-park-homerun. Hereafter, Damishah Charles singled, moved on a grounder and a passed ball, then scored on a single by Jenny Kinburn. That made it an 8-0, mercy-rule, score, but Tex Town Tigers then would score twice in its sixth at bat.

Tex Town Tigers had been unable to score earlier off of Kirsten Scheele, who went the distance for Sparks Haarlem. In the second inning, they had runners on second and third base with two outs, but Scheele then closed with a strikeout. Int he fourth, Isa Los tripled with one out, but hereafter, Monique Mooi-ter Steege lined into a double play.

But the home team then scored in the sixth inning. Nadine Marinus led off with a single and stole second base, then everyone was safe on a fielder's choice-grounder by Amber Krijgsman. The bases got loaded when Annemiek Jansen also singled. Hereafter, Jansen was forced out on a grounder by Laura Wissink, but that also led to a run. Another force play-grounder followed, this time by Isa Los, resulting in the second run. And that meant that the mercy-rule, run-difference was erased and so, the seventh ininng followed.

Two hits were combined with two defensive errors, with led to some suspense. With two outs, Shaneequa Kock reached on an error, then Nadine Marinus singled and Amber Krijgsman followed with a runscoring single that made it an 8-3 score. Another error then followed on a force play-grounder by Annemiek Jansen. That loaded the bases and the tying run was now in the on-deck circle. However, moments later, the game ended with a grounder.

Did Sparks Haarlem decide the opener early by scoring four runs in the first inning, Tex Town Tigers did the same in the second game. The home team then scored twice in the first and added three in the third at bat to lead 5-1 after three innings. But there were some exciting innings ahead after that.

After Sparks Haarlem had left two runners behind in the top of the first inning, Tex Town Tigers opened the score with two runs in its first at bat off of Leonella Elizabeth. Nadine Marinus led off with a single and moved on a sacrifice bunt by Amber Krijgsman, then scored on a following single by Annemiek Jansen. The latter tried to advance on the throw to the plate, but was eliminated at second base. Hereafter, Laura Wissink homered to make it a 2-0 score.

TTT-starter Daniëlle ten Donkelaar gave up a lead-off single to Cindy van der Zanden in the second inning. With one out, Jenny Kinburn flied out, which was turned in an inning-ending double play. Van der Zanden advanced on the flyout, but then was called out on appeal for leaving the base too early.

Sparks Haarlem then scored its first run in the third inning. Desiree Adriaansz led off with a single, then moved on a passed ball and a sacrifice bunt by Maaike Blaauwgeers. She scored on a single by Kehli Washington, then two flyouts ended the inning.

In the bottom of the third inning, Tex Town Tigers took more distance, scoring three runs. With one out, Amber Krijgsman and Annemiek Jansen both singled. Hereafter, Rebecca Soumeru took over the pitching, but she was greeted with a 2-run triple by Laura Wissink. Moments later, a sacrifice fly by Isa Los lifted the lead to 5-1.

Then suspense was building when Sparks Haarlem rallied for three runs in the top of the fifth inning. Desiree Adriaansz led off with a single and scored on a following triple by Maaike Blaauwgeers. The latter was unable to advance on an infield-hit by Kehli Washington, but that led to a pitching change. Anna-Bè Bartels took over and got the bases loaded when Maxime van Dalen walked. A following walk for Karin Tuk then brought in a run and kept the bases loaded. An infield-fly followed, which was caught by Bartels, who then made a throwing error towards third base, which enabled Washington to score and make it a 5-4 score. Tuk and Van Dalen advanced on the error, but then a grounder followed. The inning ended when Van Dalen was eliminated trying to score on a passed ball.

In the bottom of the fifth, Tex Town Tigers got two runners on base with two outs, but they were left behind.

After Sparks Haarlem was retired in order in the top of the sixth, TTT got the bases loaded in the home half, but was unable to add an insurance run. In the at bat, Romy van der Wielen led off with an infield-hit and moved on a sacrifice bunt by Aafje van Baal. With two outs, Nadine Marinus was walked intentionally, then the bases got loaded when Amber Krijgsman reached on an infield-hit. The inning ended with a groundout and so, the score was still only 5-4.

In the top of the seventh inning, Maaike Blaauwgeers led off for Sparks Haarlem with a walk and moved on a sacrifice bunt by Kehli Washington. Moments later, she was caught stealing and the game ended when a line drive by Anne Blaauwgeers was caught by 2B Amber Krijgsman.
