Two more French international players join Dutch clubs

HOOFDDORP / BUSSUM (Neth.) - Last weekend, French National Team-player Pauline Prade made her debut in the Golden League, the highest Dutch division. She plays for FysioExpert Olympia Haarlem, which opened the season with two victories against Tex Town Tigers.

In the first game of the season, Pauline Prade played on three different positions. She began in leftfield, then moved to second base and ended in centerfield. In her second at bat in the game, she hit her first Golden League-basehit.

Coming weekend, two more French National Team-players will get into action in the Dutch competion, as Manon Marie has joined the team of Hoofddorp Pioniers and Carrie Pitcher will play for HCAW. Both teams play in the Silver League.

Pioniers will play a double-header on Saturday against Ban-Topa Future Stars in Amsterdam, while HCAW will travel to De Bilt for a double-header at Centrals.

Last weekend, Pioniers opened with a double loss against UVV, while HCAW split with Birds.

The 23-year old Pauline Prade, 20-year old Manon Marie and 24-year old Carrie Pitcher all played for the National Team of France last year at the European Championship in Rosmalen (Netherlands). Prade and Pitcher also were members of the French squad during the European Championship of 2013 in the Czech Republic, while Pitcher also played for the National Team during the 2011 Championship in Italy. Marie is an infielder/catcher and Pitcher is an infielder/outfielder.

In the French competition, Carrie Pitcher played for Montpellier Barracudas (2011-2012) and Toulon Comanches (2013; 2015). With Toulon, she won the French championship in 2013 and 2015.

Manon Marie also played for Toulon Comanches in 2014 and 2015. Before joining Toulon, she played for Paris BAT (2013-2014).

Pauline Prade also has played for Toulon Comanches, but also played for Nice Cavigal (2014).

Last week, all three were selected for the French National Team that will participate this year in the World Championship in Canada.
