SANTPOORT-ZUID (Neth.) -
The make-up game between Terrasvogels and Oolders Omaco Sparks Haarlem, scheduled to be played on Tuesday-evening (August 8), was cancelled in the late afternoon due to field conditions and rain.
The game is re-scheduled for coming Thursday, August 10.
The game was the opening game from an initial double-header that was on the original schedule to be played on a Saturday in August.
Due to the upcoming European Cup Tournaments, the double-header was re-scheduled as a split double-header on Tuesday, June 6 and Thursday, June 8.
On the first date, the game went underway under very clouded conditions and was interrupted four times due to lightning and rain.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, with Sparks Haarlem leading 1-0 and no outs, the game was halted definitively due to heavy rain.
With that, it became no official game and had to be replayed in its entirety.
The game was then initially re-scheduled for Saturday, June 17, but shortly thereafter, it was moved to tonight.
But today, it had rained throughout the day, making the field unplayable.
