Terrasvogels wins big against Talent Team

SANTPOORT-ZUID (Neth.) -
Terrasvogels recorded two big victories against the Talent Team Holland on Sunday (May 14) to move into second place of the Golden League.
Terrasvogels won 16-3 and 9-1 and ended both games via the mercy-rule.
In the opener, Terrasvogels rallied for ten runs in the first inning, which was highlighted by a grand slam homerun from Jessica Waasdorp, who had five runs batted in.
Later in the game, Rhowan Stuart added a 2-run homerun.
For both Waasdorp and Stuart, these were the first homeruns in their big league-career.
All nine starting players scored at least once, while eight batters had at least one basehit.
In the second game, Terrasvogels collected 12 basehits, including three by Ella Krommendijk, who also scored three runs and had three RBI's.
Two of her hits were triples.
So far, all eight games played by the Talent Team ended via the mercy-rule.
Last weekend, the Talent Team had no games scheduled.

Talent Team Holland vs. Terrasvogels (game one)
Terrasvogels rallied for ten runs with two outs (!) in the top of the first inning to take a commanding lead and decide the game.
In the inning, only five hits were recorded, but one of them was a grand slam homerun.
With one out, the bases got loaded when Talent-starter Daniëlle ten Donkelaar gave up an infield-single to Ella Krommendijk, hit Lizzie Clarijs with a pitch and walked Suka Van Gurp.
Hereafter, a strikeout accounted for the second out.
But then, the rally began.
A wild pitch resulted in the first run and Dervisa Mutic followed with a 2-run triple.
The bases then were loaded again, as next batters Sanne Korpel and Kelly Koeman both walked.
That brought Jessica Waasdorp in the batter's box and she drilled the second pitch she saw over the fence in left-centerfield for a grand slam homerun!
That lifted the lead to 7-0.
In her second at bat in the inning, Katharina Szalay reached on a bunt-single and Ella Krommendijk walked.
Lizzie Clarijs followed with a runscoring double and two more runs were added when Suka Van Gurp reached on a throwing error.
With Terrasvogels leading 10-0, the long at bat finally ended with a foul-out.
The scoring of Terrasvogels didn't stop there, as the team score two more runs in each of the next three innings.
Trailing 10-0, the Talent Team got close to scoring a run in its first at bat off of starter Dani Bonnet.
Onaisha Franka led off with an infield-hit and stole second base.
After Bonnet struckout the next two batters, she stole third base, but then stranded.
In the second at bat of Terrasvogels, lead-off hitter Dervisa Mutic reached on an error and Sanne Korpel walked.
With one out, Jessica Waasdorp delivered a runscoring single, which also led to a pitching change.
Kim Horsten took over, but got the bases loaded when Katharina Szalay singled.
The next run was then scored on a single by Ella Krommendijk.
The inning ended with a nice double play after short stop Feline Poot caught a line drive from Lizzie Clarijs.

The Talent Team then scored its first run in the second inning.
With two outs, Nina Oomes was hit by a pitch and hereafter, Yindi Beekveldt's single was followed by two errors, resulting in the run.
In the third inning, three errors contributed to two more runs for Terrasvogels.
Suka Van Gurp led off and reached on an error, then later scored on another error which followed a single by Rhowan Stuart.
With one out, Stuart advanced on a wild pitch and scored on a 2-out double by Kelly Koeman.
In the bottom of the third, the Talent Team scored its second run on two nice hits.
With two outs, Feline Poot doubled and scored on a following triple by Uchenna Jong Loy, who stranded on third base.
In the fourth, Terrasvogels scored its final two runs.
With one out, Lizzie Clarijs singled and scored when Rhowan Stuart homered with two outs.
The Talent Team scored another run in the bottom of the fourth.
Nina Oomes led off with a single and stole second base.
She advanced on a grounder and then scored on a single by Onaisha Franka.
On a positive note for the Talent Team, the three runs were the most scored in one game so far this season.

Talent Team Holland vs. Terrasvogels (game two)
In the second game, Terrasvogels again opened the score in the first inning, but this time, the team scored only two runs.
With one out, Ella Krommendijk singled and scored on a 2-out triple by Suka Van Gurp, who later scored herself on a wild pitch.
The Talent Team got two baserunners in its first at bat off of Micaela Whitney.
With one out, she hit Kim Horsten with a pitch, then Feline Poot singled, but the American righthander closed with two strikeouts.
In the top of the second inning, Terrasvogels rallied for six runs off of starter Isanthe Rouwenhorst.
Dervisa Mutic led off with a single and Kelly Koeman was hit by a pitch.
After a double-steal, the bases got loaded when Jeske Meewisse walked.
With one out, a run was scored on a single by Katharina Szalay and hereafter, Ella Krommendijk cleared the bases with a 3-run triple.
She then scored the next run on a following single by Lizzie Clarijs.
With two outs, Jessica Waasdorp singled.
Next batter Dervisa Mutic then reached on an infield-hit, which was followed by a throwing error, but also ended in an inning-ending rundown.
The single and error enabled Clarijs to score, while Waasdorp moved to third base.
After the ball was thrown to third base, Mutic tried to advance to second base, but was eliminated in a rundown.
In the bottom of the second, Ismay Poot and Britt Amersfoort led off with infield-hit for the Talent Team, but were left behind.
For Terrasvogels, Jeske Meewisse and Gabi Obia singled with one out in the bottom of the third.
After Lisa Hop took over the pitching, the Talent-defense turned an inning-ending double play.
Terrasvogels then added another run in the fourth.
Ella Krommendijk led off with her second triple in the game and scored on a 2-out single by Jessica Waasdorp.
Ella Krommendijk became the fourth player this season to hit two triples in one game.
Last season, there were three players with a two-triple game and in 2015 only one.
Krommendijk became the second player of Terrasvogels this season to accomplish the feat.
The other was Suka Van Gurp, who hit two triples on May 6.
The last time that Terrasvogels had two players with a two-triple game was in 2014.
Trailing 9-0, the Talent Team scored its lone run in the bottom of the fifth off of Femke Duffhues, who took over the pitching for Terrasvogels in this inning.
Initially, two runners were forced out, but a throwing error enabled Onaisha Franka to score with two outs.
