Virginie Anneveld wins New Zealand-title with Magpies

HOWICK, Auckland Council (New Zealand) -
Netherlands Team-player Virginie Anneveld again has won the National Championship-title with Western Magpies.
On Sunday (March 19), Western Magpies nipped Hutt Valley Dodgers 3-2 in the Final of the New Zealand Open Women's Club Championship.
Earlier, Magpies also won the title in the AFC Premier Competition.

For Magpies (and Virginie Anneveld), this is the second conscutive Championship-title.
The Championship Tournament was held at Meadowlands Reserve in Howick, which is locacted in the east of Auckland.
In the Final, Magpies decided the game early, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning.
It was a basehit by Virginie Anneveld that opened the score.
With two outs, Cassie Siataga was hit by a pitch, then Jennifer Feret walked.
Hereafter, Virginie Anneveld, who was the designated player, singled to bring in Siataga and put the Magpies ahead, 1-0.
Robyn Hall then entered the game as 'courtesy runner' for Anneveld and Aaria Tawha followed with a 2-run double to lift the lead to 3-0.
In the top of the second inning, opponent Hutt Valley Dodgers answered with two runs.
After a run was scored on an error, a force play-grounder by Emma Houkamau made it 3-2.
But in the remainder of the game, both teams were held scoreless.
Also playing for Magpies was Kaleo Eldredge, who was the Head Coach of Tex Town Tigers some years ago in the Dutch big league.
Back then, Virginie Anneveld played for Tex Town Tigers.
