 Dinet Oosting, Stanley Doney, Olympia Haarlem nominated for Haarlem Awards

Dinet Oosting, Stanley Doney and FysioExpert Olympia Haarlem have been nominated for Awards that will be handed out during the annual Topsportgala to honor the best athletes in the Haarlem-area.
The Gala is organized by SportSupport in cooperation with the Municipality of Haarlem.
Dinet Oosting is nominated for Female Athlete of the Year, Stanley Doney for Coach of the Year and Olympia Haarlem for Team of the Year.

This season, Olympia Haarlem captured the European Cup Winners Cup, then also won the Dutch Championship-title by winning the best-of-three Final against reigning champion Oolders Omaco Sparks Haarlem.
This was the third season that the team was led by New Zealander Stanley Doney.
Dinet Oosting was a leading player of the team, who last month was named Most Valuable Player of the Golden League.
Olympia Haarlem led the Golden League the entire season and closed with a 30-4 record in first place.
In the following Play-Offs, the team remained unbeaten, won three games and reached the Holland Series.
In the weekend of September 23-24, at Moergestel, Olympia Haarlem swept Sparks Haarlem, winning 5-0 and 2-0 to capture its first Championship-title.
The club's predecessor DSC '74 won the title in 2003.
In August, Stanley Doney led his team to another European Cup-victory.
After winning the Cup Winners Cup in 2016, the team won the same Cup again this year in Caserta (Italy).
On August 26, Olympia Haarlem shutout Meditteraneo (Malta) 2-0 in the Final.
Dinet Oosting was named Most Valuable Player of the Golden League for the second consecutive year on October 28.
She led the Golden League in several offensive categories, including batting average (.536), slugging average (.821), on-base percentage (.613), runs scored (40), basehits (45), runs batted in (37), total bases (69), walks (19) and stolen bases (21).
The catcher als led her team in doubles (9) and homeruns (3).
Defensively, Dinet Oosting made only four errors in 162 chances, which gave her a .975 fielding average.
Besides winning the European Cup Winners Cup and the Dutch Championship-title with Olympia Haarlem, Dinet Oosting also was a member of the Netherlands National Team, which on July 1 captured the title at the European Championship in Bollate (Italy).
There are eight categories at the Topsportgala in which athletes will be honored.
For each category, there are three nominees, which were announced recently.
Besides Dinet Oosting, also nominated for Female Athlete of the Year are Kim Polling (judo) and Naomi Schotvanger (swimming).
Also nominated for Coach of the Year are René Oerlemans (karate) and Melissa Nazar (trampoline).
Olympia Haarlem is one of three teams to be nominated for the title Team of the Year.
The other two nominees are Kenamju Women (judo) and Kennemer Combinatie (chess).
In the category Sport Talent of the Year Boys, Nolan Beugeling (baseball) is nominated.
Also nominated are Ties van der Lecq (badminton) and Olivier de Jong (fencing).
Besides the four mentioned categories, winners will also be announced for Male Athlete of the Year, Sport Talent of the Year Girls and Master of the Year.
Also the Sports Volunteer of the Year (no nominations) will be announced.
The nominations were made by a jury, who also will determine the winner in each category.
The winners will be announced during the Topsportgala on December 12 at the Gravenzaal in the City Hall of Haarlem.
