In the second inning, Maaike Blaauwgeers singled with one out, but a line drive hit by Kehli Washington then ended in a double play.

Hereafter, Chantal Versluis walked, but was ruled out for leaving first base too early.
In the fourth, Onaisha Franka singled with two outs and stole second base, but was left behind.
In the meantime, Ginger de Weert dominated as pitcher for Sparks Haarlem.
The righthander allowed only two hitters to reach base in the four innings she pitched and struckout six hitters.
After having retired the first eight batters she faced, De Weert gave up a 2 -out single to Alexandra Chumanova in the third inning, but closed with a strikeout.
With two outs in the fourth, she gave up a single to Maya Shalvadze, who moved to second base on a passed ball, but also stranded.
Sparks Haarlem rallied for four runs in the bottom of the fifth to increase its lead to 6-0.

With one out, an error followed on a grounder by Kimberly Jones, which enabled Blaauwgeers to score.

With two outs, two more runs were scored on a single by Anne Blaauwgeers.
Carrousel then was more productive in the fifth inning off of new pitcher Quincey Catsburg and scored its lone run.
The Sparks Haarlem-defense prevented more runs.
Vasilia Sorokina led off with a walk and Ekaterina Aleshina followed with a single.
The two moved to second and third base on a double-steal.
Hereafter, 3B Tammie Lijbers started a double play on a grounder by Tatiana Beltyukova.
The latter was eliminated at first base, then Sorokina tried to score, but was eliminated at the plate.
In this situation, Aleshina moved to third base and she scored moments later on a passed ball.
Hereafter, Alexandra Chumanova singled (she was 2-for-2) and moved into scoring position on another passed ball.
