Win and loss for Tex Town Tigers and Terrasvogels
Nederlands
ENSCHEDE (Neth.) -
The opening double-header between Tex Town Tigers and Terrasvogels ended in a split on Saturday (April 14).
Tex Town Tigers won the opener, then Terrasvogels won Game 2 of the double-header.
Both teams won with a 5-3 score.
This also was a meeting of the two teams that will be led by a new Head Coach this season.
Last year, the teams were led by a father-son combination.
Jaap Braakman was the Head Coach of Tex Town Tigers, while his son Nick Braakman led the team of Terrasvogels.
With two games remaining in regular season, Jaap Braakman was relieved of his duties by the club's Technical Commission.
Petra van Heijst took over and led the team in the remainder of the season as Interim Head Coach.
This year, Tex Town Tigers is led by Robert Kovačević, who had been active in Germany in previous seasons.
For Terrasvogels, Ferenc Jongejan took over as Head Coach, after having been Nick Braakman's Assistant Coach last year.
Since some weeks now, Terrasvogels has to do without catcher and powerhitter Karin Tuk, who sustained a severe knee-injury.
The all-time homerun-leader is working hard on her recovery, but it will be quite some time before she will return into uniform.
Also injured on the Terrasvogels-roster is outfielder Desiree Adriaansz, who sustained a hamstring-injury two weeks ago during the Haarlem Series.
