Game 1

In the opening game, the Talent Team was off to a good start, took a 3-0 lead and was leading 3-2 halfway the fifth inning. In the bottom of the fifth, Roef! struck with three runs and turned the game its way en route to a 7-3 victory.

In the top of the first inning, the Talent Team scored twice off of starter Marjolein Merkx. With two outs, the righthander hit Sterre den Duijn with a pitch. On Saturday, Den Duijn was a teammate of Merkx in the opening game against FysioExpert Olympia Haarlem and then contributed in the producing the lone (and thus winning) run. Den Duijn was then added to the squad of Roef! for the opening double-header. She plays for De Glaskoning Twins with whom Roef! has a working agreement. Den Duijn stole second base, then also stole third base while Feline Poot received ball-four. After the latter also had stolen second base, both scored when Jacky Huijben followed with a 2-run double.

The Talent Team added another run in the second at bat, but also left three runners behind. With one out, the bases got loaded when Tess Remmers singled, Rose Mwaro reached on a bunt-single and Onaisha Franka walked. After an infield-fly accounted for the second out, the run was scored when Sterre den Duijn walked. But a flyout then ended the inning.

Roef! got one run back in the bottom of the second inning off of Roos-Marijn Kramer, who threw a strong game for Terrasvogels on Saturday against Tex Town Tigers. With two outs, Sophie Verdaasdonk walked, stole second base and moved to third base on an error. Naftely Pietersz then also walked and Céline Janssens followed with a runscoring single. With runners on first and second base, the inning ended when Pietersz was ruled out for interference on a grounder by Kim Donkers.

Roef! narrowed the deficit to 3-2 in the third inning, but again left two runners behind. With one out, Elizabeth Snow doubled and moved on an infield-hit by Isa Los. When the latter stole second base, Snow scored when a throwing error followed. Hereafter, Charlotte Drijvers walked, but two grounders ended the at bat.

Sterre den Duijn again got into scoring position for the Talent Team in the top of the fifth. With one out, she hit a double and moved to third base on a flyout, but was left behind.

Roef! then turned the game around in its fifth at bat. Cindy van der Zanden led off with a walk, which led to a pitching change. Nicole van Eijl took over from Roos-Marijn Kramer, but ran into problems. She began with a walk for Elizabeth Snow, then saw the two runners advance on a sacrifice bunt by Isa Los. To create a force play, Charlotte Drijvers was walked intentionally, but hereafter, Minke Blok followed with a 2-run double, which gave Roef! a 4-3 lead. Moments later, Drijvers scored the next run on a single by Sophie Verdaasdonk. Another pitching change followed, as Isanthe Rouwenhorst was brought in. Verdaasdonk was then caught stealing and Rouwenhorst closed with a strikeout, but Roef! was now leading 5-3.

The Talent Team stranded another runner in scoring position in the sixth inning off of reliever Tamara Togni. In the home half of the sixth, Roef! added two insurance runs. Céline Janssens reached second base on an outfield-error and scored on a following single by Kim Donkers. Hereafter, Donkers was forced out on a grounder by Cindy van der Zanden, who went on to score when an outfield-error followed a double by Elizabeth Snow.

In the top of the seventh, Tamara Togni retired the side and earned her first save.

It marks the second day in a row that an added player contributed to the win. On Saturday, an error following a single by Sterre den Duijn enabled Eva van Knegsel to score the lone run in the opener against Olympia Haarlem. In this game, a 2-run double by Minke Blok gave Roef! the lead in the fifth inning. Both Den Duijn and Blok play in the Silver League for Twins, with whom Roef! has a working agreement. With that, players are eligible to play for both teams. Twins opens its new season in the SIlver League coming Saturday.

Game 2

In the second game, things went somewhat easier for Roef! after the team took an 1-0 lead in the first inning. Four runs were added in the third at bat and three more in the fourth to reach a mercy-rule run-difference.

The Talent Team recorded only one basehit in this game off of two pitchers, but the team reached base several times, as five batters walked. Trailing 1-0, the team got a runner on third base in the top of the second inning. Sterre den Duijn led off with a walk, stole second base and moved to third base on a grounder by Marijn Crouwel An attempt for a sacrifice bunt/squeeze by Nina Oomes then was caught and ended in an inning-ending double play.

The Talent Team got another runner on third base in the top of the third. Tess Remmers led off with a walk, then moved on a grounder by Lisa de Vries and a single by Angelica Bomba, but they were left behind. Bomba's basehit remained the lone one.

Moments later, Roef! rallied for four runs to more or less decide the game.

Roef! opened the score in the bottom of the first inning off of starter Lisa Meyering, who played in her first game at the highest level since 2015 when she played for Alcmaria Victrix. Kim Donkers led off with an infield-hit, advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Cindy van der Zanden and scored with two outs when an error followed on a single by Isa Los.

In the bottom of the third inning, Roef! took more distance by scoring four runs. Lead-off hitter Kim Donkers reached on an error and with one out, Elizabeth Snow singled. Both scored when Isa Los followed with a triple. Charlotte Drijvers added a runscoring single, which led to a pitching change. Isanthe Rouwenhorst took over and she gave up a single to Minke Blok. That brought Drijvers to third base and she scored the next run on a wild pitch with two outs.

The Talent Team let a runner behind on second base in the top of the fourth inning. Roef! then scored three more runs in its fourth after eight defensive changes were made in the Talent Team. With one out, Kim Donkers and Cindy van der Zanden both singled and moved on a wild pitch. The bases got loaded when Elizabeth Snow walked and Isa Los followed with a 2-run single. That gave Los four RBI's in this game. It also brought in new pitcher Nicole van Eijl, whose sister Margot van Eijl was the starting pitcher for Roef! in this game. With runners on second and third base and one out, Charlotte Drijvers hit the ball into the outfield, resulting in a run, a sacrifice fly, a double play and the end of the inning. Drijvers flied out to centerfield and Snow scored, making it a sacrifice fly and an RBI. After the ball was caught, Los advanced to third base and also tried to score, but was eliminated, making this an inning-ending double play.

In the top of the fifth, the Talent Team got into scoring position again, but was unable to score. Kelly Bezems and Onaisha Franka led off with walks, then Angelica Bomba flied out. Hereafter, Feline Poot also flied out and that also was turned into a double play, as Bezems was eliminated at second base. With that, the game ended.
