In the opening game of the tournament, Terrasvogels had a productive first at bat, scoring five runs. Lisa Waasdorp led of with a triple off of starting pitcher Iris Strookman, then Dervisa Mutic walked. Both scored when Noa Brand followed with a double. She then advanced on a wild pitch and scored the next run on a sacrifice fly by Britt Vonk. With two outs, Lizzie Clarijs walked and stole second base. She moved to third base when a walk for Jessica Waasdorp ended in a passed ball. Moments later, Clarijs scored on a wild pitch. Waasdorp went on to score the fifth run on a single by Denice van Dijk.

Roos-Marijn Kramer went the distance for Terrasvogels and had a good outing. The righthander struckout eight hitters and gave up only four basehits. Coincidentally, it were the fifth, sixth and seventh hitter in the batting order of Pioniers who were most successful off of Kramer. They all reached base in the second and fourth inning and accounted for the two runs of their team.

Kramer retired the side in the first inning, then was supported with a nice defensive play short short Britt Vonk to start the second inning. Hereafter, the next three hitters reached base. Shari van Heyningen singled and Dionne Cooper walked. Susannah Groen followed with a runscoring single, but Cooper was eliminated at third base trying to advance on the throw to the plate. Groen was left behind, as Kramer closed with a strikeout.

Terrasvogels got the run back in its second at bat. Dervisa Mutic led off with a triple and scored on a single by Noa Brand. Mutic's hit might have been a possible inside-the-park-homerun, but she was stopped at third base.

Trailing 6-1, Pioniers scored its second run in the top of the fourth inning and, as mentioned, the same three players were involved and did the same as two innings before. With two outs, Shari van Heyningen singled and Dionne Cooper walked. Susannah Groen again produced a runscoring single. This time, Cooper successfully moved to third base, but Pioniers left two runners behind.

In the bottom of the fourth, Terrasvogels added two more runs. With one out, Noa Brand singled, then scored when an outfield-error followed on a single by Britt Vonk, who was able to reach third base. Ella Krommendijk then walked, but she was forced out on a grounder by Lizzie Clarijs, which enabled Vonk to score and lift the lead to 8-2.

In the top of the fifth, Amy Felix became the lone other player of Pioniers to reach base when she led off with a walk. She stole second base on a strikeout, but then was left behind.

In the bottom of the fifth, Terrasvogels again scored twice off of new pitcher Serena Kersten. Kelsy Pieneman led off with a walk. She then stole second base and continued to third base on a throwing error. With one out, Pieneman scored on a triple by Dervisa Mutic. While that made it a 7-run difference, the game continued. As it was not immediately clear whether or not there was a mercy-rule in the tournament, the game continued. Moments later, Mutic scored the tenth run for Terrasvogels on a single by Noa Brand, who was 4-for-4, scored two runs and batted in four, making her responsible for six of the ten runs. When the third out was made, the game ended, as the mercy-rule indeed was applied in this tournament.

Shari van Heyningen and Susannah Groen were both 2-for-2 for Pioniers.

In the third and final game of the first day of the tournament, Amsterdam Pirates recorded another big victory, this time winning 10-2 against Hoofddorp Pioniers.
