Game 1
With two outs in the top of the first inning, visiting DSS got two baserunners when Roef!-starter Marjolein Merkx walked Dominique Burger and Sophie Bugter.
But she then closed with a strikeout.
The righthander struckout a career-high eleven batters in this game and gave up only four basehits.
Moments later, Roef! rallied for four runs in the bottom of the first inning off of María Gómez Mendoza, who went the distance for DSS.
This first at bat proved to be decisive.
Wies Ligtvoet led off with an infield-hit, then stole second base and scored the first run on a double by Kim Donkers.
Hereafter, Cindy van der Zanden walked and the bases got loaded on a bunt-single by Elizabeth Snow.
Two runs were added when Isa Los followed with a single.
A single by Noa Armirotto re-loaded the bases, then the fourth run in the inning was scored on a sacrifice fly by Charlotte Drijvers.
The bases got loaded for the third time when Amy Udink walked.
However, this time, three runners were left behind when a strikeout and flyout ended the inning.
DSS, which left a runner on first base in the second inning, answered with three runs with two outs in the top of the third.
With one out, Anna-Bè Bartels singled and scored on a 2-out double by Sophie Bugter.
Next, Denice van Dijk walked and Lorraine Kieft followed with a runscoring single that brought in Bugter.
A fly into the outfield by María Gómez Mendoza was then missed, enabling Van Dijk to score the next run and led to runners on second and third base.
The inning ended when Marjolein Merkx closed with a strikeout.
No more runs were added in the remainder of the game.
Roef! got a chance to do so in the bottom of the third inning.
With one out, Charlotte Drijvers singled and Amy Udink walked.
The two moved on a sacrifice bunt by Eva van Knegsel.
A force play was then set up by walking Wies Ligtvoet intentionally.
María Gómez Mendoza closed with a strikeout and so, three runners were left behind.
The Venezuelan righthander retired the side in the next two innings.
In the sixth, she gave up a lead-off single to Eva van Knegsel, but a strikeout-caught stealing double play followed.
After having scored three runs in the third, DSS got only one baserunner in the next three at bats.
The Haarlem-team got into scoring position again in the top of the seventh.
With one out, Anna-Bè Bartels walked, which led to a pitching change.
Rachael Knapp took over and began with a strikeout.
Hereafter, Bartels stole second.
Moments later, the game ended with a rare play.
Sophie Bugter walked, but Bartels then tried to steal third base and was eliminated in a rundown, which ended the game.

Game 2
With two outs in the top of the first inning, Dominique Burger and Sophie Bugter again reached base, just as they had done in the previous game.
In the opener, both walked.
This time, both hit an infield-hit.
However, Burger overran second base and was eliminated to end the inning.
Roef! then scored the first run in the bottom of the first inning off of starter María Gómez Mendoza.
The run was unearned, as lead-off hitter Wies Ligtvoet reached on an error and went on to score.
She stole second base, then scored on a following single by Kim Donkers.
Roef! then decided the game with a 5-run rally in the second at bat.
Four of the runs were unearned due to two errors.
Sophie Verdaasdonk led off with a double and moved to third base on a sacrifice bunt by Eva van Knegsel.
She then scored the first (and lone earned) run on an infield-hit by Charlotte Drijvers, who ended up on third base on a following throwing error.
With one out, Drijvers scored when Wies Ligtvoet's grounder ended in another error, which enabled her to reach third base.
Kim Donkers followed with a runscoring single.
Roef! got runners on the corners when Cindy van der Zanden also singled and a double-steal then accounted for the next run.
Next, the fifth run in the inning was scored on a double by Elizabeth Snow, which also led to a pitching change, as Anna-Bè Bartels took over.
She walked Noa Armirotto, but then closed with a strikeout.
Roef! added its seventh run in the third when Eva van Knegsel led off with a double and scored on an one-out single by Céline Janssens.
With that, the team reached a mercy-rule run-difference.

An extra run was then scored in the bottom of the fourth.
Kim Donkers led off with a single and moved on a single by Cindy van der Zanden.
The two advanced on a flyout, then Donkers scored on a grounder by Noa Armirotto.
Roef!-starter Rachael Knapp retired the side in the second and third inning.
With a 7-0 lead, Kim Horsten took over the pitching.
She gave up a lead-off single to Ilse Kesseler, but then retired the next three batters, two of them with a strikeout.
Trailing 8-0, DSS scored three runs in the top of the fifth.
Lorraine Kieft led off with a double, then moved to third base and scored on two consecutive wild pitches.
Next batters (and rookies) Wendy van Wijk and Esmee Ames both walked.
The first was forced out at third base on a grounder by Elise Ooms, but a passed ball led to runners on second and third base.
An error on a grounder by Anna-Bè Bartels produced another run and erased the 7-run mercy-rule difference.
Another run was scored moments later on a force play-grounder by Ilse Kesseler.
An infield-hit to short by Sophie Bugter then gave DSS another baserunner, but it also led to some defensive changes, as short stop Isa Los left the game.
The inning ended with another force play-grounder.
Now leading 8-3, Roef! ended the game via the mercy-rule after all, as it scored twice moments later in the home fifth.
With one out, Charlotte Drijvers reached on an error and Céline Janssens was hit by a pitch.
With two outs, a run was scored on a single by Kim Donkers, who was 4-for-4, scored twice and batted in three runs.
Cindy van der Zanden followed with a walk-off single, as it lifted the lead to 10-3.
She was 3-for-4.
