Thursday-evening games rain out
Nederlands
ROTTERDAM / HAARLEM / AMSTERDAM / VLEUTEN (Neth.) -
All four scheduled games in the Dutch big league were cancelled today due to the field conditions at the respective playing sites.
The four games already were cancelled early in the day, as steady rain had made the fields unplayable.
It marks the first time this season that a game (and in this case four) rained out.
The games have been re-scheduled for next Tuesday-evening, July 19.
Because of the rainout, Dirk van 't Klooster's quest for his career 1000th basehit also was interrupted.
The Kinheim-outfielder was hitless last Sunday and still needs three to reach the mark.
