HAARLEM (Neth.) - Did Corendin Kinheim won yesterday only 3-2, today the Haarlem-squad won more convincingly, beating ADO 8-3. After hitting only six basehits in its last 18 innings, Kinheim today belted 13 basehits, including three by René Cremer, who was 2-for-10 in the first three games of the season.

Both Kinheim's Head Coach Ben Thijssen as ADO's Head Coach Ron Steward had made changes to their batting order. Thijssen made only two changes, switching his number 4 hitter Vince Rooi with the number 6 batter Tjerk Smeets. Steward left only one spot intact today, as opposed to the previous three games. Dimitri Leon batted second in all four games, but Steward has used different batting orders in all games. Number 5 hitter Michel Korzeniewski dropped a spot, while lead-off hitter Quensley Bazoer today batted in seventh place. Rodrinov Faries, who batted 7th, 8th and 6th in the previous games, today was the lead-off hitter for ADO.
While its win eventually didn't come in jeopardy, Kinheim saw ADO come alongside in the third inning, 3-3, but then took hold of the game starting in the home of the third. Despite getting two batters on base in the first inning, ADO ran itself out of the at bat. Kinheim-starter Cliff Foster walked lead-off batter Rodrinov Faries, who then was caught stealing. After a groundout, Foster gave up a single to Ludwin Obispo, then caught him off-guard at first base, resulting in another caught stealing. In the following play, Obispo injured himself and had to leave the game. Kinheim then opened the score on two sac-flies in the first inning. ADO's American starter Brent Henry also started by walk the lead-off batter, Danny Rombley, who then stole second base and advanced on a single by René Cremer. Rombley then scored on a sac-fly by Dirk van 't Klooster. Next, Cremer also stole second, advanced on a following throwing error and scored on a sac-fly by Tjerk Smeets. Kinheim made it 3-0 in the next inning when Jeffrey Verbij led off with a single, moved on a passed ball and a grounder and scored on a single by Danny Rombley.
Trailing 3-0, ADO tied the score in the third inning when Cliff Foster walked three batters, who all scored. The righthander first walked Jaïr Roseburg and Gregory Hassell, then loaded the bases with two outs by also walking Luigino Domacasse, who had taken over for the injured Ludwin Obispo. Next, Dave Steward hit a baseclearing, 3-run double to come alongside, but stranded himself on second base. Kinheim re-took the lead immediately in its third, but left the bases loaded behind. Tjerk Smeets led off with a single, then Brent Henry loaded the bases with a walk and a hit batter, while striking out two batters in between. The lefthander then also walked Denny Beljaards to bring in Kinheim's fourth run and was relieved by Alex Smith, who ended the inning with a pop-fly.
Kinheim added an unearned run in the fourth inning when René Cremer reached on an infield-hit, moved on a grounder and scored on an error, but Kinheim also stranded two more runners. Two more runs were scored in the sixth inning. First, Dirk van 't Klooster led off with a double, but then got into a rundown between second and third in a caught stealing-situation. After Alex Smith struckout Tjerk Smeets, the British national team-pitcher gave up a homerun to Bryan Engelhardt, then walked Vince Rooi and Jeffrey Verbij, which were folllowed by an RBI-single by Jason Halman, who last season played for ADO.
The eighth run was scored in the seventh at bat. Danny Rombley led off with a single, stole second, moved on a single by Dirk van 't Klooster and scored on a single by Tjerk Smeets. However, Kinheim left two more runners behind and another one in the next at bat, as they would leave 14 in this game.
After scoring their three runs in the third inning, ADO reached base only two more times in the remainder of the game. Cliff Foster retired the side in the fourth, then was relieved by Patrick Beljaards, who retired the first ten batters he faced. The veteran lefthander then gave up an infield-hit to Rodrinov Faries with one out in the eighth, but ended with a flyout and groundout. In the ninth, close Michiel van Kampen gave up an one-out single to Haily de Palm, then Kinheim turned a double play to end the game.
