ADO takes 2-0 lead in Play-Down

ADO took a 2-0 lead in its best-of-five Play-Down series vs. Almere Magpies after an 1-0 shutout-victory on Saturday-evening.
The lone run in the game was scored in the second inning.
Michel Korzeniewski led off with a single, but was forced out on a grounder by Frans Richardson.
With two outs, Richardson stole second base, then Remco Seitzinger walked.
Richardson then scored when Anthony Vrolijk singled.
Bobby Carrington went the distance for ADO, struckout eleven batters and gave up only three basehits.
Carrington dominated, as he retired 21 of 23 batters faced between the second and eighth inning.
Almere's lone scoring opportunities came in the first and ninth at bat, when it stranded two runners.
In the ninth, Wesley Bernardus led off with a single and advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Jason Orman.
Next, Giovanni Samboe was walked intentionally and was forced out on a grounder by pinch-hitter Churandy La Cruz, but that brought Bernardus to third base.
Carrington then ended the game by striking out Joey Berkenbosch.
