Dragons balances Japan Series

Chunichi Dragons defeated Chiba Lotte Marines 12-1 on Sunday in Game 2 of the Japan Series to even the final at 1-1.
The Dragons took charge of the game early, scoring 10 runs in the first three innings.
Lotte-starter Bill Murphy gave up four runs in the first inning, including one on a single by veteran Kazuhiro Wada (who was 3-for-4) and a basesloaded walk.

In the second inning, the Dragons added three runs, highlighted by a 2-run double by Wada.
In this at bat, Murphy was replaced after having thrown 1 1/3 inning in which he gave up seven runs, six hits and walked three batters.
Three more runs followed in the third inning.
Tony Blanco, who had struckout in his first two at bats, now contributed with a 2-run single.
In the sixth inning, Blanco added a 2-run homerun.
The lone Lotte-run was scored in the fourth inning on a single by Toshiaki Imae off starter Wei-Yin Lin, who gave up four hits in six innings.
For the Marines, this was their first loss in nine Japan Series-games.
After a loss in the Japan Series of 1974 vs. the Dragons, the Orions (as they were known back then) won the next three games to win the the title.
In 2005, the team swept the Hanshin Tigers in four games, then opened the current Series with a win, before losing today.
