Starting Pitchers coming 3-game series

HOOFDDORP / UTRECHT / ROTTERDAM / BUSSUM / THE HAGUE / AMSTERDAM / HAARLEM (Neth.) - On Thursday-evening, the next 3-game series is scheduled to begin and to be completed on Saturday and Sunday. For the first time this season, the upcoming games might see some rain-delays, as rain is predicted for some parts of the country for coming weekend.

After completion of Tuesday's practice sessions, six of the eight Head Coaches named their rotations for the 3-game series. The confirmations of the remaining two rotations is expected on Wednesday.

Listed below, are the starters for the upcoming series, but of course, the assigments can always change on game-days.

Vaessen Pioniers vs. ADO
Head Coach Robert Klaver of Vaessen Pioniers (7-5) will use the same rotation again as he did in the previous four weeks. Last weekend, Mervin Gario (who was injured) made his comeback in the line-up, but was used only as the designated hitter. Also available again from coming weekend is outfielder Mark-Jan Moorman, who returned from his study in the USA. Last weekend, Pioniers swept UVV in three games.

Aldric Dunlop, the Head Coach of ADO (1-11), announced the same rotation as he planned to use last week. However, due to sickness, he had to switch pitchers from one day to another. Last weekend, ADO was swept in three games by Corendon Kinheim.

UVV vs. DOOR Neptunus
Royce Holder, the Head Coach of UVV (6-6), only announced his starters for Game 1 and 2 and has yet to decide who will start Game 3 on Sunday. So far, LHP Martijn Riphagen has been the starter in Game 3. Last weekend, UVV was swept in three games by Vaessen Pioniers.

Jan Collins, the Head Coach of DOOR Neptunus (11-4), made a change to his rotation for the upcomimg series. The starters for the first two games remain intact, but he will go with RHP Tim Roodenburg again as Game 3 starter. This means that lefthander Craig Anderson, who started Game 3 last Sunday, will be used out of the bullpen for the coming series. Last weekend, Neptunus swept Sparta-Feyenoord in three games.

Sparta-Feyenoord vs. L&D Amsterdam Pirates
Head Coach Charles Urbanus of league-leader L&D Amsterdam Pirates (13-2) kept his rotation intact for the coming series, meaning he will go with the same three starters as in the last five weeks. Last weekend, Amsterdam swept Mr. Cocker HCAW in three games.

On Tuesday, Pitching Coach Leo Voogd had yet to confirm his starters for the coming series, but it is expected that Sparta-Feyenoord (3-9) will go with the same rotation as last weekend when it was swept in three games by DOOR Neptunus. On Wednesday, Voogd confirmed that the three starters indeed will be used, but in a different order, as last weeks Game 2 and 3 starters have switched.

Mr. Cocker HCAW vs. Corendon Kinheim
Bill Froberg, the Head Coach of Mr. Cocker HCAW (1-11) will use the same starters for Game 2 and 3 as he did last weekend, but named another Game 1 starter. RHP Dennis Burgersdijk will start the opener on Thursday, as he did two weeks ago. Last week, Froberg went with rookie lefthander Robin Schel in the opener. HCAW was then swept by L&D Amsterdam Pirates.

Eelco Jansen, the Head Coach of Corendon Kinheim (9-3), also has yet to confirm his starters on Tuesday, but it is expected that he will use the same trio he send to mound in the previous series. On Wednesday, Jansen indeed confirmed this. Last weekend, Kinheim swept ADO in three games.
