PEORIA, Arizona (USA) - Dutch Outfielder Greg Halman was optioned to the Tacoma Rainiers, the Triple-A team of the Seattle Mariners, on March 14.
As he was optioned, it means that the Mariners can recall Halman to the Major League-team at any moment.
Last season, Halman also played for the Rainiers, appearing in 112 games.
He finished the season with a .243 average, registered 103 basehits, including 33 homeruns, scored 82 runs and had 80 runs batted in.
After the season of the Rainiers finished, Halman was recalled to the Mariners and made his Major League-debut on September 23.
In nine big league-games, Halman hits four basehits, including one double.
For this season, Halman was a member of the 40-man roster of the Mariners during Spring Training and played in 12 games.
He batted .235 (4-for-17), scored one run, hit a homerun and had three RBI's, but also struckout nine times, while walking once.
2011 is Halman's seventh professional season in the organization of the Mariners.
