Starting Pitchers coming 3-game series; ADO, Sparta-Feyenoord add players
Nederlands
BUSSUM / HAARLEM / AMSTERDAM / ROTTERDAM / THE HAGUE / UTRECHT / HOOFDDORP (Neth.) - On Thursday-evening, the next 3-game series will begin and the starters for most of these games have been announced.

It was also announced that ADO and Sparta-Feyenoord added a player to their rosters.

Listed below, are the starters for the upcoming series, but of course, the assigments can always change on game-days.

Standings & Schedule

Mr. Cocker HCAW vs. ADO
Head Coach Bill Froberg of Mr. Cocker HCAW (3-12) has only named his starter for the first game. He didn't name his weekend starters yet, as some of his pitchers are stricken with the flu. Last Sunday, RHP Kevin Roovers made his first in a year and looked fine, so he might be available again for the upcoming games. Last weekend, HCAW won two of the three games vs. Corendon Kinheim.

Aldric Dunlop, the Head Coach of ADO (1-14), announced he will use the same starters as last weekend, but in a different order. Last weekend, ADO was swept in three games by Vaessen Pioniers.

Re-joining ADO this series will be Outfielder Quensley Bazoer, who started the season with HCAW and therefore probably will play against his former team in the upcoming series. Both HCAW and ADO confirmed the transer, which has yet to be cleared by the Federation. Bazoer has played in six games this season for HCAW and went 0-for-10 with six strikeouts. Bazoer played for HCAW in the 2009 and 2010 seasons after having played for ADO in the previous five seasons (2004-2008).

No surprises in the rotations of Corendon Kinheim (10-5) and Sparta-Feyenoord (4-11) for their upcoming series, as Head Coach Eelco Jansen (Kinheim) and Pitching Coach Leo Voogd (Sparta-Feyenoord) will use the same as last weekend. For Kinheim, this will be the rotation they have used so far in all series. In the meantime, Bryan Engelhardt (hamstring) has returned to full duty back at first base, but catcher Jason Halman probably will not yet be back behind the plate in the coming series. During a recent practice of the National Team, Halman sustained an ankle-injury and was used as the DH in last week's series of Kinheim.

Last weekend, Kinheim won one of three games vs. Mr. Cocker HCAW, while Sparta-Feyenoord won one out of three vs. league-leader L&D Amsterdam Pirates.

This weekend, Sparta-Feyenoord will expand its pitching staff, as Dominican lefthander José Ventura will return to Rotterdam. Ventura arrives on Sunday-morning and while he will be eligible to pitch right away, it is not expected that he will already throw later on the day in Game 3. Ventura also played for Sparta-Feyenoord last season and then went 4-8, appearing in 14 games (10 as a starter). In 85 innings, he struckout 75 batters, walked 42 and gave up 77 hits, finishing with a 3.28 ERA. He also frequently was used as a DH and batted .270 (20-for-74), scored eight runs, had five RBI's and hit five doubles.

L&D Amsterdam Pirates vs. UVV
Head Coach Charles Urbanus of league-leader L&D Amsterdam Pirates (15-3) is going with the same rotation in the upcoming series for the seventh consective week. Last weekend, Amsterdam won two of three games vs. Sparta-Feyenoord. Outfielder Wesley Connor is still sidelined as he needed a stitch in his mouth, but is expected to return soon, while Outfielder Kenny Berkenbosch (knee) has resumed participating in the team's practice sessions. Urbanus hopes both will return again in time for the European Cup-tournament early June in Amsterdam.

Head Coach Royce Holder of UVV (6-9) changed his rotation. RHP Orlando Yntema, who has been the Game 1 starter so far, has been moved to Game 2, therefore avoiding a confrontation with RHP Rob Cordemans. RHP Jurjen van Zijl, who was the Game 2 starter, therefore moved to Game 3. Rookie RHP Timo van Ancum has now been named starter of Game 1. Last weekend, he was not announced as starter, but then started Game 2, for which initially Van Zijl was announced, but he then started Game 3 instead. Last weekend, UVV was swept by DOOR Neptunus in three games.

DOOR Neptunus vs. Vaessen Pioniers
Jan Collins, the Head Coach of DOOR Neptunus (14-4), will go with the same starters in Game 1 and Game 2 again, but named another Game 3 starter, as he had done several times. This time RHP Kevin van Veen will start for the first time since April 10 when he was the losing pitcher vs. L&D Amsterdam Pirates. Last weekend, Neptunus swept UVV in three games.

Robert Klaver, Head Coach of Vaessen Pioniers (10-5), is using the same rotation as he has done in previous weeks. Last weekend, Pioniers swept ADO in three games.
