HAARLEM (Neth.) - On Monday, the make-up game between Corendon Kinheim and Vaessen Pioniers, scheduled to be played in the evening, again was cancelled. On Sunday, the game lasted only six minutes, but then was interrupted by rain and stopped shortly thereafter as the field had become unplayable. It kept on raining most of the day and night, meaning the field remained unplayable on Monday. The new date for this game is now Tuesday, July 26. It has also been confirmed that the two games that rained out on Saturday (ADO vs. Sparta-Feyenoord and DOOR Neptunus vs. L&D Amsterdam Pirates) were re-scheduled for Tuesday, July 26. It also was confirmed that the games of these teams that were cancelled on Sunday were re-scheduled for Tuesday, August 2, while the match-up of Mr. Cocker HCAW vs. UVV also being scheduled for July 26.

Because of the cancellations of the last days and today, the coaches also had to look into their pitching rotations. As some games had started, some pitchers of course also had thrown several innings, like in the games of Sparta-Feyenoord vs. ADO (four innings on Saturday) and Mr. Cocker HCAW vs. UVV (five innings on Sunday).

As of now, the announced starting pitchers for the make-up games to be played tomorrow (Tuesday) all have been confirmed, except for Corendon Kinheim. The Haarlem-squad will go with righthander Duko Jansen, who started Sunday's cancelled game and retired the side in the first inning. Nick Veltkamp, the initial starter for Tuesday, has now been moved to next Saturday. Vaessen Pioniers has yet to name its starter for Tuesday. As the games on Tuesday now will be the only make-up games, the normal rotations can now be used again when the next series of three games starts on Thursday.

However, it remains a big question mark whether the clubs will be able to play on Tuesday (or maybe even Thursday). Because of the heavy rain of the last few days, the fields have become unplayable and get no chance to recover, even when it doesn't rain. And more rain is predicted for the coming days...
