SANTPOORT (Neth.) - A4 Terrasvogels extended its winning streak to eleven games on Tuesday-evening by winning 3-0 vs. Centrals in another outstanding pitching performance by Judith van Kampen.

Three days after throwing a Perfect Game last Saturday, Judith van Kampen did almost the impossible by throwing another one on Tuesday-evening in her next start. She came very close, as she allowed only one batter to reach base and settled for a one-hitter. Centrals-rightfielder Kristel Dalmeijer broke the Perfect Game in the fourth inning. After Judith van Kampen had retired the first ten batters in a row, Kristel Dalmeijer singled. But that was all for Centrals, as the next eleven batters went down in order again. Judith van Kampen struckout fourteen batters, which is her season-high. Earlier this season, she struckout ten and twelve batters in one game.

Petra van Heijst led off for Terrasvogels in the first inning with a triple, but stranded at third base, as a groundout and two strikeouts followed.
In the third inning, another triple led to a 2-0 lead. This time, Petra van Heijst led off with a walk and moved on a sac-bunt by Marieke Jansen and an infield-hit by Nina van Huissteden. After Dana Horeman struckout, Annemiek van Riessen tripled to bring in the two runs.
In the fourth inning, Terrasvogels had three consecutive infield-hits, which had no effect, as the first runner was called out after leaving her base too soon and then two outs followed.
In the fifth, Terrasvogels added a run when Nina van Huissteden led off with a walk, moved on a single by Dana Horeman and scored on a single by Annemiek van Riessen, who therefore accounted for all three RBI's.

ZOETERMEER (Neth.) - Computer SOS Tex Tigers moved into third place with a 4-0 shutout win on Tuesday-evening against Birds.

This was the fourth consecutive shutout-loss for Birds, which now has not scored a run in its last 27 2/3 inning and only one in the last 37 innings.
Only three players of Birds reached base Tuesday and only one of them was able to reach third base. That was when Sandra Rusman singled with one out in the second inning and reached third on an error.

Tex Town Tigers scored three runs in its second inning. With two outs, Mieke van der Zwaan reached on an error and Merel Oosterveld was hit by a pitch. Nadine Marinus then followed with a 3-run homerun.
In the third inning, Lindsey Meadows tripled after a double play, but was left at third base.
In the fourth, another run was scored. With one out, Mieke van der Zwaan and Merel Oosterveld singled after which starter Anne Be Bartels was relieved by Rebecca Antonissen. But two runners were left behind, as did Tex Town Tigers in the sixth and seventh inning.

OOSTERHOUT (Neth.) - Twins won 1-0 on Tuesday-evening vs. Euro Stars and therefore is now in fourth place.

One run was enough for Twins, but it was Euro Stars that got the most scoring opportunities. The team left nine runners behind, including seven in scoring position, In the third inning, Karin Tuk triple with two outs, but was left. In the fourth inning, the bases were loaded when one out, when Davinia de Kwant lined into a double play. In the fifth, Anouk van den Heuvel led off with a double and advanced on a wild pitch, but stranded on third base.

Twins scored the lone run in the second inning. With one out, Micky Jansen reached on an infield-hit and advanced to third base when Cherry Winklaar singled. She then scored when Claudia Kranendonk grounded out.
In the next three innings, Twins got only three more runners, one of them reaching third base, but, as said, one run proved to be enough today.

But there was another run in this game, scored in the fourth Twins-inning, but reversed. Lead-off hitter Sandra Catoen was then hit by a pitch. Micky Jansen then flied out, but Cherry Winklaar walked. After this, Catoen was replaced by pinch-runner Lieke Duffhues. Next batter Claudia Kranendonk then hit towards rightfield but the ball hit runner Cherry Winklaar on the leg. On the play, Duffhues scored and Winklaar continued running towards third base where she collided with third baseman Britt Breure. The collission resulted in a delay of 15 minutes, as both players were hurt. Britt Breure was able to continue playing, but Cherry Winklaar had to leave the game with an ankle-injury. She went to the hospital for a check-up and returned after the game. Of course, Winklaar was called out, as she was hit by a batted ball, Duffhues had to return to second base as play was dead and Kranendonk was awarded first base with a basehit.

Sparks Haarlem wins against DSC '74

HAARLEM (Neth.) - Sparks Haarlem on Tuesday-evening won 6-3 vs. Van der Peijl DSC '74 in a game in which both teams filed a protest, but withdraw them afterwards.

In the fourth inning, Sparks Haarlem took a 5-1 lead and appeared to be en route to a 7-run difference game. But DSC came back, both starters were gone after the the fourth inning, the final score was 6-3 and with 1:58 hours it was the longest game of Tuesday-evening. That excludes a four-minute discussion in the sixth inning when both teams filed a protest.

But first let's go the first inning when Sparks took a 2-0 lead. American pitcher Lindsay Enders walked lead-off batter Kim Kluijskens, who advanced on a sac-bunt by Lynn Geertman, then scored on a single by Jolanda Kroesen, who herself advanced to second on the throw to home plate. After a foulout, Kroesen reached third base when Marloes Fellinger singled and scored when an error in rightfield followed.
In the second inning, Sparks stranded three runners and DSC came back with a run in the home third. With one out, Meike Hylkema reached on an infield-hit when 3B Marloes Fellinger and SS Chantal Versluis almost collided trying to field the ball. Laura Burggraaf then singled, as did Ellen Venker on whose basehit Hylkema was able to score.
Sparks reacted with three runs in the fourth inning. Lyanne Horeman led off with a single, then Kim Kluijskens walked. After the two runners moved on a sac-bunt, Jolanda Kroesen received her second intentional pass of the evening. The set-up for a force play failed, as Blake Hoorelbeke followed with a sac-fly and Marloes Fellinger with a 2-run single to lift the lead to 5-1.
In the home fourth, DSC came back with two runs to narrow the deficit to 5-3. Blake Hoorelbeke (who faced her former teammates) walked lead-off batter Lisanne van den Berg, then threw a wild pitch. After a groundout, Lindy Prins reached on a bunt-single. Then the bases were loaded when Laura van den Berg also walked. Meike Hylkema followed with a 2-run single, which resulted in a pitching change. Crissy Autry, who was unable to throw the last two weeks because of back-problems, took over and became the winning pitcher.

In the fifth inning, Laura van den Berg took over the pitching for DSC-starter Lindsay Enders, who had walked six batters, including two intentional, but those walks may have had a cause. In the sixth inning, after giving up a lead-off triple to Kim Kluijskens, the game suddenly stopped, as Laura van den Berg complained about the pitching plate. It appeared that there were two plates in the pitching circle, one on the women distance and one on men distance. In the first five innings, the pitchers had thrown from the men distance, as the women plate wasn't visible. A discussion between the two umpires and coaches of both teams followed with Sparks Haarlem announcing it continued the game under protest. Shortly thereafter, DSC also announced it filed a protest against the wrong pitching distance. After a delay of four minutes, the inning continued and was completed on men distance. In the seventh inning, the situation was adjusted and pitchers threw from the women distance. After Kluijskens returned to third base, moments later she scored on a grounder by Lynn Geertman.
No other runs were added in the game, meaning Sparks Haarlem won 6-3 and therefore withdraw its protest. About 15 minutes after conclusion of the game, DSC informed the game officials that it also withdraw its protest, as the rules state that an inning has to be completed when a situation like this occurs, then have to be adjusted before the start of the next inning.
