HAARLEM (Neth.) - A4 Terrasvogels also won its fifth and sixth game of the season, winning 7-0 and 8-2 vs. Van der Peijl DSC '74, which still is winless after six games.

In the opener, pitcher Judith van Kampen not only raised her record to 3-0, but also threw her third shutout in a row. The righthander now didn't gave up a run in 22 consecutive innings.
In this game, she game up six basehits, including three to Ellen Venker, who stranded on base three times.

Terrasvogels opened the score right away in the first at bat. With two outs, Nina van Huissteden homered, then Dana Horeman singled and scored on a triple by Annemiek van Riessen.
Three runs were added in the third inning. Marieke Jansen then led off with a single and moved when Nina van Huissteden walked. The two scored on a 2-run triple by Dana Horeman, who went 3-for-4 and was able to score herself also. While rounding the bases, the centerfielder threw the ball back to the infield, then a throwing error towards the catcher enabled Horeman to score the third run in this at bat. It marked the end for starting pitcher Laura van de Berg, whose record dropped to 0-4.
The remaining two runs in the opener were scored in the seventh inning on a single by Dana Horeman and a sac-fly by Annemiek van Riessen.
DSC left nine runners behind in this game. The team got nine runners on base with none or one out, but failed to score. The closest it came to a run was in the sixth when Gallieth Haaker reached second base on a throwing error with one out, then moved on a single by Cindy Baretta. But then the inning ended when Jasja Bos grounded into a double play.

In Game Two, Kirsten Scheele also won her third game of the season, but this time Terrasvogels had to break a 2-2 tie in the fourth inning.
Terrasvogels had taken a 2-0 lead in the third inning. The first run was scored in the opening at bat on a single by Dana Horeman, who went 4-for-4 in this game. The daughter of former Dutch national baseball-team third baseman Harm Horeman went 7-for-8 with a triple in this double-header, scoring three runs and collecting six RBI's.
The second run was scored in the third when Nina van Huissteden tripled and scored on Dana's second single.
DSC's rookie Head Coach Ton van Koeverden had changed his entire batting order for this game, but in the end, it didn't help. In the third inning, DSC managed to tie the score. With one out, Gallieth Haaker walked and Inge Consent singled. The two moved on a grounder by Laura van de Berg, who was in the line-up as the designated player. Then, a wild pitch followed by a throwing error enabled the two runners to score.

Three runs were added in the fifth inning. Nina van Huissteden and Dana Horeman singled, which marked the end for starter Stephanie Haddad. After an infield-fly, the two scored on a triple by Nathalie Gosewehr, who herself scored when Femke Haage followed with a single.
In the sixth, the lead was increased to 8-2 on the fourth single in the game by Dana Horeman.

CAPELLE a/d IJSSEL (Neth.) - Sparks Haarlem on Saturday again registered two shutouts, this time 9-0 and 4-0 vs. Euro Stars. The Dutch champion now has five shutouts in its first six games. It only gave up three runs in its third game of the season when it played against Van der Peijl DSC '74.

American pitcher Crissy Autry started the opener and threw her third consecutive shutout. As Sparks Haarlem provided its pitcher again with enough power and runs, the game ended prematurely because of the mercy rule, as it had done twice before. The righthander now didn't gave up a run in 19 consecutive innings, trailing Judith van Kampen of A4 Terrasvogels, who threw 22 innings in a row without giving up a run.
Crissy Autry retired the first ten batters she faced, before walking Shulaika Balentina in the fourth inning. A single by Manon Schol and an error loaded the bases, but no runs were scored.
Sparks took a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Kim Kluijskens led off with a single and moved on a sac-bunt by Lynn Geertman. Next, Jolanda Kroesen also singled, followed by an RBI-single by Chantal Versluis. Blake Hoorelbeke then hit a 3-run homerun to make it 4-0. This was Hoorelbeke's second homerun of the season.
Two runs were added in the third inning on a double by Mariska Greve and a single by Kinge Bouma.
The lead was increased to 9-0 with a 3-run rally in the fourth at bat. First, Kim Kluijskens reached second base when her flyball was missed in the outfield. With two outs she scored on a triple by Chantal Versluis, after which starter Lara Hollander was relieved by Maaike de Hoon. But then Versluis scored on a wild pitch. Next batter Blake Hoorelbeke walked, moved on a single by Marloes Fellinger, who was 3-for-3, and scored on a single by Mariska Greve.

In Game Two, Blake Hoorelbeke pitched a 5-hitter and saw Euro Stars leave seven runners behind, including four in scoring position, two of which were on third base.
Sparks got its first two batters on base in the first inning, but a grounder and a double play ended the early scoring opportunity. The team then scored all four runs in the third inning on four doubles. With one out and Sabrina Soumeru (fielder's choice) on first, Kim Kluijskens hit an RBI-double to open the score. After Lynn Geertman also doubled, Jolanda Kroesen added a 2-run double, then scored herself on a 2-out double by Blake Hoorelbeke.
In the remaining four innings, Sparks was unable to add more runs off Belgian pitcher Vera Van De Ven, who took over in the fourth inning.
