AMSTERDAM (Neth.) - L&D Amsterdam started the day with a 10-1 victory vs. First Divisionist Robur '58, which was the opener of a triple-header with three teams. Hereafter, Robur '58 met ADO, then the day was completed with Amsterdam playing against ADO.

On the Pirates-complex in the Dutch capital, Amsterdam scored its first run in the opening at bat. Robur-starter Gerwin Thiel hit three batters in this inning. He first hit lead-off batter Wesley Connor, then Sidney de Jong with one out. An error after an infield-fly, put runners on second an third, then the bases were loaded when Thiel also hit Derrick Francisca. The first run was then scored after a passed ball, before the bases were re-loaded when Bas de Jong walked, but this time a flyout ended the at bat.

After the bases were loaded when Sidney de Jong walked, a run was scored on a sac-fly by Fausto Álvarez Rizo, last year Most Valuable Player of the Dutch big league. Derrick Francisca followed with a 2-run triple, then scored himself when Bas de Jong doubled. A single by Björn Henrichs was then followed by a throwing error, enabling De Jong to score the seventh run in the at bat and increase the lead to 8-0.

Robur '58, which last season won the title in the First Division, got baserunners in all innings, but was unable to score, stranding two in both the second and fourth inning. It then scored its lone run in the fifth. Emeron Lourens, who last season played for relegated Instant Holland Almere '90, led off with a double, moved on a grounder by Raul Werleman, then scored on an infield-hit by Ryan Bregieta.
