Second league-win for Dutch Juniors!
Nederlands
- HAARLEM (Neth.) - The Dutch National Softball Team on Sunday defeated Olympia Haarlem 6-2 in the first game of their double-header to register their second win in the big league. In Game Two, the Juniors failed to hold onto a 4-0 lead and lost 7-6.

In the opener, the Dutch Juniors scored twice in the first inning, thanks to a single by Dinet Oosting and a triple by Noemie Brandjes. After Olympia scored its first run in the first at bat on a single by Marisèla de Wind, the Juniors added three more runs in the second inning to increase the lead to 5-1. In this inning, a run was scored on a passed ball, then the next one on a single by Kiki Draaijer and the third on a fielder's choice.

Olympia Haarlem scored its second run in the fourth inning when it got the bases loaded off Marjolein Merkx on consecutive singles by Maranca Ham, Lisanne van den Berg and Rosanne de Vries. A grounder by Laura Burggraaf then resulted in a run, but the Juniors got the run back in the sixth. Kimberly Jones then singled and advanced to third base on an error and scored on a grounder by Laura Treurniet.

In Game Two, the Juniors rallied for four runs in the second inning. Cindy van der Zanden singled in the first two runs, then an error and fielder's choice accounted for the next two runs to make it 4-0. However, Olympia answered with five runs in its second at bat, which was highlighted by a 3-run triple by Christie Hill that put her team ahead, 5-4.

The Juniors came alongside in the third on a double by Cheryl Hiele, but Olympia re-took the lead in the fourth on an error and a single by British National Team-player Karlene Headley-Cooper, who was 3-for-4. The Juniors narrowed the deficit to 7-6 in the fifth inning when Dinet Oosting (who had five hits today) tripled and scored on a sac-fly by Noemie Brandjes, but that was to be all.
