Alcmaria Victrix wins twice vs. Centrals

HAARLEM / ALKMAAR (Neth.) - Alcmaria Victrix moved into a tie for second place on Saturday by winning twice vs. Centrals to pass this team on ranking. Alcmaria won 1-0 and 3-0 in their first two home games of the season. Alcmaria won the opener in the eighth innings thanks to a sacrifice fly by Noëmie Brandjes.

Iber Lengua Terrasvogels won twice vs. Olympia Haarlem, 2-1 and 11-1, in their first two road games of the season. In the opener, Terrasvogels outhit Olympia 8-2 and scored the winning run in the sixth inning on an error. In Game 2, Terrasvogels hit 11 basehits, including a homerun by Kate Gentile and triples by Gentile, Eva de Bruin and rookie Lisa Waasdorp. Winning pitcher Mercedes Lovato threw an one-hitter.

Sparks Haarlem won 11-1 and 8-1 vs. Twins in two games that ended early due to the mercy-rule to extend their winning streak to 10 games. In the opener, Kirsten Scheele and Dagmar Bloeming threw a combined No-Hitter for Sparks Haarlem, which collected 11 basehits, including four by Julie Owen.
