Euro Stars withdraws from big league

CAPELLE a/d IJSSEL (Neth.) -
Euro Stars has withdrawn its softball-team from the Dutch big league, which was confirmed by the Dutch Association KNBSB.
After completion of last season, most players (as well as the Head Coach) left the team, which was already thinking of withdrawing in October and requested the KNBSB for a position in the 'Overgangsklasse' (one league below the big league).
However, the KNBSB-Board rejected the request, as teams that withdraw have to play two divisions lowers, according to league-rules.
Hereafter, Euro Stars decided to remain in the big league and announced that decision late October.
But then, some of last remaining players also left.
Initially, players from the second team and juniors (with the addition of some foreign players) were to form the team for this season and also some kind of working relation with Gryphons was mentioned.
But in the end, things were not realizable, resulting in Euro Stars withdrawing somewhat over a month before the start of the new season.
Instead of nine teams (including the Dutch Junior Team), eight teams will mow play in the highest division.
As of now, the announced game schedule will remain intact, with the games to be played by Euro Stars simply dropped from the schedule.
