Big extra inning rally gives Terrasvogels win

On Sunday, Iber Lengua Terrasvogels won twice vs. Centrals, 14-6 and 4-0.
The games were played in a make-up double-header after their initial games rained out on Saturday.
In the opener, the score was tied at 2-2 after seven innings, but then Terrasvogels took a 3-2 lead in the eighth.
However, Centrals came alongside moments later to force another extra inning.
In the ninth inning, Terrasvogels struck and rallied for eleven runs on eight hits and four errors to take a commanding 14-3 lead.
Centrals was able to score three runs of its own, but lost 14-6.
In Game Two, Terrasvogels won 4-0 on a 2-hitter by Mariëlle Vleugels.
Terrasvogels opened the score in the third inning off Jessica Pattersen, a player from the second team of Centrals, who made her big league-debut.
With one out, Floor Roest singled, advanced to third on a sac-bunt by Eva de Bruin and scored on a bunt-single by Meike Witteveen.
Two runs were added in the fourth at bat.
Solange Starrenburg and Kate Gentile singled to put runners on second and third, then scored respectively on sacrifice flies by Mariëlle Vleugels and Floor Roest.
In the fifth, Terrasvogels made it 4-0 when Lotte Holvast singled (bunt) with one out and scored on a basesloaded grounder by Mariëlle Vleugels.
Winning pitcher Mariëlle Vleugels retired the first 10 batters she faced, including four strikeouts, before giving up a single to Eva Voortman.
With one out in the seventh, she gave up her second single of the game, an infield-hit by pinch-hitter Daya Lucio, but then a double play ended the game.
