Tex Town Tigers vs. Oolders Omaco Sparks Haarlem
At Enschede, Oolders Omaco Sparks Haarlem won big twice vs. Tex Town Tigers, which is now 0-6. Sparks Haarlem won 10-1 and 7-0 and collected 21 basehits, including three homeruns.

In the opener, Sparks rallied for four runs in the first inning to set the tone. With one out, Virginie Anneveld reached second base on a throwing error, then scored when Areke Spel followed with a double. Next, Debby Connor hit an RBI-single and then Julie Owen added a 2-run homerun to make it 4-0.

In the second inning, two runs were scored. Chantal Versluis led off with a double and this time Virginie Anneveld hit a 2-run homerun. In the previous six seasons, Virginie played in 188 games for Tex Town Tigers and never hit a homerun. Today, in her third game for Sparks Haarlem, she hit her first career homerun and did it on the field where she had played since 2005.

In the home of the second, TTT scored its lone run on a single by Myrthe Smid, but then Sparks Haarlem scored two more runs in the fourth inning. With two outs, the bases were loaded when Silea Bos (another newcomer in the Sparks line-up) hit a 2-run single. In the fifth, two unearned runs were scored on an error to make it 10-1.

In Game 2, Sparks Haarlem again struck in the first at bat. Chantal Versluis led off with a single, then scored when Areke Spel homered with one out.

In the second inning, Versluis again scored. With two outs, she singled, advanced on an error, stole third base and scored on a wild pitch.

Four runs were added in the fourth inning, thanks to an RBI-single by Versluis, wild pitch, sac-fly by Anneveld and single by Debby Connor.

Tex Town Tigers got the bases loaded in the first inning, but failed to score.

After scoring four runs on Saturday, Chantal Versluis today again scored four.

Dutch Juniors vs. Alcmaria Victrix
At Alkmaar, the Dutch National Junior Team played its first two league-games of the season and lost 5-1 and 2-0 to Alcmaria Victrix.

In the opener, the Juniors made too many errors (five), which led to three unearned runs. In the second inning, Alcmaria opened the score with two runs. Lead-off hitter Maxime van Dalen reached on an error, then scored on a double by Maiken Rooker, who later scored on a bunt by Annemiek de Rover.

Two runs were added in the third inning. Kym Turnell and Kimberly Jones hit back-to-back triples, then the latter (who also is a member of the Junior-squad, but today played for her clubteam) scored on an error.

After Alcmaria left the bases loaded in the fifth inning, the Juniors got one run back in its fifth. With one out, Cindy van der Zanden reached on a bunt-single, then stole second base, advanced on a wild pitch and scored on a following throwing error. Back in the second inning, Sophie Bugter had led off with a triple, but was left there.

Alcmaria added another run in the sixth inning when Noëmie Brandjes (who also is Junior-player) reached on an error and scored on another.

Winning pitcher Femke van Dusschoten struckout eight batters and gave up only three hits. She also went the distance in Game 2 and this time struckout 13 batters and threw an one-hitter.

The game was scoreless for five innings. Junior-pitcher Eva Voortman (who on Saturday won her third game as pitcher of Centrals) only gave up a lead-off single in the first inning to Kym Turnell and struckout five, while walking two in the first five innings. For the Juniors, only Stephanie Ruiter reached base twice in that period, walking in the second and hitting a single with one out in the fifth.

In the sixth inning, Alcmaria scored its two runs. Kimberly Jones led off with a single and later scored on a wild pitch, while pinch-runner Svenja de Lincel (another Junior-player on the Alcmaria-roster) scored on an error.
