New coach leads Tex Town Tigers to first win

SANTPOORT / ENSCHEDE / HAARLEM (Neth.) - Interim-Head Coach Stanley Kock, who took over on Friday, led Tex Town Tigers to its first win of the season after having lost the first seven games. Playing at home, Tex Town Tigers started the day with a 5-2 loss vs. Twins. But in Game 2, Tex Town Tigers took an early 5-1 lead, saw Twins narrow the deficit to 5-4 and 8-7, but held onto the lead and won 9-7. A homerun by Karin Tuk gave TTT an insurance run in the sixth.

Iber Lengua Terrasvogels won 3-2 in Game 1 vs. Alcmaria Victrix, but then was shutout 2-0 and held to only two basehits in Game 2.

Sparks Haarlem shutout Olympia Haarlem twice, 7-0 and 5-0. In Game 2, the game was scoreless for five innings, but then the home team rallied for five runs in the sixth, highlighted by a 3-run homerun by Julie Owen. With today's results, Sparks Haarlem has now registered four shutouts in its last five games.
