OOSTERHOUT (Neth.) - Righthanded pitcher Misja Harcken will make his comeback on a big league-mound next season. Twins Oosterhout confirmed on Monday (November 13) that Harcksen will play for the team in 2024. The transfer-period ends on November 15 at midnight.

Besides the addition of Harcksen, Twins also accounced that short stop Mick Vos will return to the field after not having played this year. Also, righthanded pitcher Finn Kops will be on the mound again after being sidelined with an injury since August 2022.

Misja Harcksen last played in the big league in 2022 when he pitched for Curaçao Neptunus. He then was 5-2 with two saves and a 2.52 ERA, pitching in 12 games (three starts). In 35 2/3 inning, Harcksen struckout 22 batters, walked 14 and gave up 37 basehits.

This season, Harcksen pitched for Zwijndrecht, which finished in first place of Pool A of the Second Division.

Harcksen earlier pitched for Twins Oosterhout in 2018, his lone season with the club. Back then, he was 6-6 with a 3.72 ERA and 97 strikeouts in 14 games. Harcksen led the team with his victories, strikeouts and starts (14).

After the 2018 season, Harcksen returned to Neptunus for whom he also played in 2013, 2014 and 2017. He had a strong 2019 season and was 11-2 with an 1.95 ERA for Neptunus. Harcksen then also threw a Perfect Game against Twins Oosterhout, what then was his former team. This was only third Perfect Game in Dutch history.

Towards the end of the 2014 and then in 2015 and 2016, Harcksen played professionally in the organization of Los Angeles Dodgers at the Rookie League-level.

Earlier this month, Twins Oosterhout also announced the addition of three other players: righthanded pitcher Jack Wagner, righthanded pitcher Joost Terpstra and outfielder Wijnand Ruben. However, Terpstra has withdrawn his transfer and will stay with Curaçao Neptunus instead. This season, Terpstra played for Tridents, the second team of Neptunus in the First Division. He briefly pitched for the main-squad in 2021.
