Chadwick Tromp was on the 40-man roster of Atlanta Braves and was with team during Spring Training. He then played in three exhibition-games and was 1-for-6 (.167) for Atlanta, with one walk and one run batted in. On March 1, Tromp was optioned to Gwinnett Stripers, the Triple-A team of Atlanta. Before his call-up on April 9, Tromp had played in four games for Gwinnett, hitting 5-for-17 (.294) with one double. He scored once and batted in three runs.

In the game on April 8 against San Diego Padres, Atlanta's regular catcher Travis d'Arnaud got injured in a collission at home plate and was replaced be Sean Murphy. The next day, d'Arnaud was placed on the the injured list for a concussion and recalled Tromp. Murphy then was Atlanta's catcher in the final game against San Diego, as well as in following the 3-game series against Cincinnati Reds. Last Friday and Saturday, Murphy also did the catching in the first two games against Kansas City Royals. But he got the day off on Sunday in the final game against Kansas City and Tromp then was behind the plate for Atlanta, which won with a 5-4 score. Tromp got four at bats, but struckout three times. Teammate Ozzie Albies was 2-for-4 with a solo-homerun.

Last season, Tromp appeared in one game for Atlanta and then batted 3-for-4 with two doubles and batted in three runs.

Tromp made his Major League-debut in 2020 when he was with San Francisco Giants. He then played in 24 games and batted .213 (13-for-61) with one double and four homeruns, batting in ten runs. In the 2021 season, Tromp played in nine games for San Francisco and then batted .222 (4-for-18) with one homerun.

In 2016, Tromp made his debut in the Netherlands National Baseball Team. After making his debut in an exhibition game against France, Tromp played in three games for the Orange-squad during the European Championship in Hoofddorp (Netherlands). During the Championship, he played in his first game against Russia and then homered in his first at bat.

In 2017, Tromp was a member of the preliminary roster of the Netherlands Team for the World Baseball Classic, playing for the squad during preparations in Arizona (USA) and South Korea. Tromp was not on the final roster for the WBC, but stayed with the team as a bullpen-catcher. The Netherlands qualified for the Semi-Final, which was played in Los Angeles (USA). After completion of the Second Round, a change on the Orange-roster was made due to an injury. Tromp was then added to the active WBC-roster, but he didn't play in the Semi-Final against Puerto Rico.
