After winning with an one-run difference on Saturday with a 12-11 score, Quick Amersfoort today gave up no runs and recorded a 10-0 shutout-victory in a mercy-rule 7-inning game. The game initially remained scoreless from both sides through the fourth inning.

UVV was retired in order in its first two at bats off of lefthander Jhan Rifaela, who had a strong outing today and struckout ten batters. In the third inning, Rifaela gave up a lead-off single to Lucas Bekker and with two outs, Malcolm Marlin reached on an infield-hit. But they were left behind.

In the top of the fourth, UVV came close to a run. With one out, Jorge Luis Espinal Ventura walked and J'mar Calliste singled. With runners at the corners, Rifaela struckout the next two batters.

Quick Amersfoort got its first runner in scoring position in the bottom of the first inning off of starter Gijs van den Brink, also a lefthander. He walked lead-offf hitter Amar van Zwieten, who stole second base with one out, but then stranded.

After Quick was retired in order in the second, the team got runners on second and third base in the next at bat. Lars Visser led off with a walk and Jordy Burger followed with a bunt-single. The two advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Amar van Zwieten. This time, a strikeout and groundout ended the inning.

Quick then opened the score in the bottom of the fourth. For the third time, Quick's lead-off hitter walked and this time, it was Ibrahin Redan. Next batter Marvin Jakobus singled, but he was forced out on a following grounder by Irving Redan. But his brother advanced to third base. Moments later, he scored on a force play-grounder by Emeron Lourens.

UVV got its next runner in scoring position in the top of the fifth. Emon Webb, who made his big league-debut today, led off with a walk. He was brought to second base via a sacrifice bunt by Timothy Rojas, but then also was left behind.

Quick Amersfoort then took more distance in the bottom of the fifth via a 4-run rally. Jordy Burger led off with a single, moved on a grounder, then advanced to third base on a single by Jurian Hansen. After the latter had stolen second base, Quick got the bases loaded when Pascal Zegwaard walked and that led to a pitching change. Allard Helms took the mound for UVV, but he was greeted with a 2-run single by Ibrahin Redan, then a 2-run triple by Marvin Jakobus. And that lifted the lead to 5-0. Helms then had a strong finish, as he struckout the next two batters.

Both teams were retired in order in the sixth. Riley Gonesh then took over the Quick-pitching in the seventh. He walked a batter with one out, but then closed with two strikeouts.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Quick rallied for five more runs to reach a 10-run difference. For the fifth time, the home-team got its lead-off hitter on base and for the fourth time, that was done via a walk. This time, both Jurian Hansen and Pascal Zegwaard started the inning with walks. They scored moments later, when veteran Ibrahin Redan hit the ball down the rightfield-line for a 2-run triple. With one out, Irving Redan reached on an infield-hit and Emeron Lourens followed with an RBI-single. Allard Helms then struckout the next batter, but with two outs, he uncorked a wild pitch that gave Quick runners on second and third base. Hereafter, it was Jordy Burger who delivered a runscoring infield-hit. Moments later, Lourens scored the tenth run on a walk-off single by Amar van Zwieten.
