(Story & Photo by Marco Stoovelaar) Second game Hoofddorp Pioniers vs. Neptunus cancelled after rain-delay Nederlands HOOFDDORP (Neth.) - The second game of the 3-game series between Hoofddorp Pioniers and Curaçao Neptunus rained out on Saturday (April 22). The game was initially re-scheduled for Tuesday-evening, but later in the day, that was changed to Monday-evening. ...No game today in Hoofddorp... (© Photo: Marco Stoovelaar) Because of rain in the previous hours and the unplayable field, the start of the game initially was postponed for one hour. However, as a constant drizzling (and sometimes what heavier) rain remained in presence, it became clear that playing was not an option today, although the infield was covered under a big tarp. Just after 3 PM, the game was called due to the weather- and field-conditions. The game between Quick Amersfoort and HCAW in Amersfoort also was cancelled after a delay of 30 minutes. This game also will be made up on Monday. In Amsterdam, the game between Amsterdam Pirates and Twins Oosterhout went underway more than one hour later than scheduled.
