Panama wins opening game vs. Greece

PANAMA CITY (Panama) -
Host Panama on Saturday-evening opened the 39th World Cup with a 8-3 win vs. Greece.
The Dutch Team plays its first game on Sunday vs. Taiwan.
The game got a surprise start when Greece rallied for three runs in the second inning.
The first three Greek batters struckout in the first inning, but in the second they got the bases loaded on a walk and two singles.
A hit by pitch and another single then accounted for three runs.
But in the home of the second, Panama came alongside.
With one out and after a walk, a triple and two doubles equaled the score.
Greece was held scoreless in the remainder of the game.
But Panama, which was held scoreless for the next three innings, rallied for four runs in the sixth inning on four hits and two errors.
Another run was added in the next at bat when Conception Rodriguez homered.
