NIEUWEGEIN (Neth.) -
The Dutch Association has declared Euro Stars responsible for the halting of the third game in the Promotion/Relegation Play-Off against ADO last Sunday at The Hague.
As a result, the game was declared a 2-0 forfait victory for ADO, which now leads the best-of-five series, 2-1.
At the moment the game was halted after seven innings, ADO already was leading the game 10-2.
The game was halted by the umpire crew after Peter van der Akker, the Head Coach of Euro Stars, was ejected, but remained visible near the field, meaning he didn't comply to a ruling of the umpires.
Van der Akker was given a 4-game suspension, which he has to sit out partly at the start of next season.
The Series continues on Saturday, September 10 at Capelle a/d IJssel.
When ADO wins that game, it will prolong its stay in the Dutch big league.
When Euro Stars wins, a fifth and deciding game follows on Sunday at The Hague.
