The team was not only awaited by fans and family-members, but also several camera-crews and reporters, representing tv-stations, shows and newspapers.

About an hour after landing, the players arrived in the arrival hall. There, they were congratulated by the fans, signed autographs, posed for photos, gave interviews and were re-united with their families.

,,We never expected something like this. It's enormous'', Rob Cordemans said later during a press conference. Responding to the question what makes baseball such a fun sport, Cordemans, the winning pitcher in the final game last Saturday against Cuba, stated: ,,Well, winning the world title is pretty special''.

Manager Brian Farley again underscored that winning the world title was a 'team effort'. But the American-born Farley also reacted to the sudden attention by the press. ,,We would have deserved more attention in the period leading up to the World Cup'', Farley said. ,,I hope you will continue to give us this attention.''

After the press conference, players had a get-together with their families, before going home.

The Dutch Federation will honor the team on November 11 at a to be announced location. ,,As of now, Haarlem, Utrecht and The Hague have shown interest to organize it, which will be done combination with the annual Stars Awards when we will name and decorate the best baseball and softball-players of the previous season'', said Ruurd Koopmans, Secretary of the Board of the KNBSB.

Later on the day, several players had appearances on national and local tv-shows.
