HCAW primarily added young, talented players to its squad, including three from its Rookie Team, to built for the future. In a press release, HCAW states ''that the road to the top has been set in motion last year. Within five steps, the club want to connect again with the top of the league'', referring to the top-4. ,,In order to do so, the base of the team will be compiled from several talented players, most of them coming from the Bussum-area.'' Included in the new players this year are players who play or have played for the Dutch National Junior Team.

Amongst the newcomers in Bussum is pitcher Sedley Karel, who threw for UVV in the last two seasons. The righthander was used primarily as a reliever, as he threw in 47 games in relief in these two seasons combined. This year, Karel was 3-0, appearing in 22 games and struckout 24 batters in 28 innings.

Added from its Rookie Team were pitcher Roel Bellinga, infielder Arjan Elshof and outfielder Sergino Martis. The last two already have played for the big league-team before. Also coming are pitcher Jasper de Heus (Almere '90), catcher Max Clarijs (Pirates Rookies) and infielders Kevin Nieveld (ADO Lakers), Dillon True and Tim Vermij (both RCH-Pinguïns). The latter played in 21 big league-games for L&D Amsterdam Pirates in 2011.

Leaving Bussum is righthanded pitcher Dennis Burgersdijk, who moved to UVV. Burgersdijk was 2-8 and led the HCAW-pitching staff with a 5.33 ERA. He struckout 62 batters and walked 50 in 79 1/3 inning, giving up 81 basehits. For Burgersdijk, UVV will be his sixth new team in the last seven years after having pitched for ADO (2007), Sparks Haarlem (2008), RCH-Pinguïns (2009), Almere '90 (2010) and HCAW (2011-2012).

Kevin Gerard and Zamir Lijde, who both came to HCAW after last season from RCH-Pinguïns are returning to this club from Heemstede. Also not coming back are Rick Kuipers (Robur '58), Kenny Rinkema, Glenn Romney, Jerold Martijn and Seb Visser. The latter, who last season played for Amsterdam Pirates will play for DSS in the second highest league, while new clubs for Rinkema, Romney and Martijn are not known yet. Pitcher Kyle Putnam returned to the States and utility-player Randy Reiph retired.
