ROTTERDAM (Neth.) -
DOOR Neptunus won 8-3 tonight (Saturday, October 11) to balance the best-of-seven Holland Series against L&D Amsterdam Pirates at 3-3 and force an all-deciding seventh game, which will be played on Sunday in Rotterdam, starting at 2 PM.
Today's game started 3 1/2 hours later than scheduled due to rain and the following field-maintenance.
It marks the first time since 1989 that a best-of-seven Holland Series needs all seven games.
Back then, Haarlem Nicols won 4-3 vs. Neptunus.
The first Holland Series in 1987 was a best-of-three, then the format changed to seven games in 1989.
But from 1990 on, it became a best-of-five and it changed back to a best-of-seven in 2010.
