Six big league-teams participate in three tournaments this weekend
Nederlands
AMSTERDAM (Neth.) - Six of the eight teams from the Dutch big league will participate in three different tournaments in the Easter Weekend.

Vice-champion L&D Amsterdam Pirates, Corendon Kinheim and Vaessen Pioniers (who both also qualified for the Play-Offs last season) will participate in the annual In Memoriam Charles Urbanus, Sr. Tournament, hosted by HCAW, which is the fourth partipating team.
The tournament is named after Charles Urbanus (Sr.), who was a longtime coach of Amsterdam-based OVVO and the Netherlands National Team. Having its origin in OVVO, Amstel Tijgers was created in the seventies. It was this club that originally organized the event for the first time in 1981 after Urbanus had passed away in 1980. The tournament was held in Haarlem in 1988 and 1989, but then moved to the site of HCAW in Bussum, after the merger of that club with Amstel Tijgers in late 1988. Charles Urbanus is the uncle of Charles Urbanus (Jr.), who played for OVVO and Amstel Tijgers and currently is the Head Coach of Amsterdam Pirates.

The tournament opens on Friday-evening with the game between Amsterdam and host HCAW at 8 PM.
It then continues with three games on Saturday and two more on Sunday.

DSS, which will make its big league-debut this season, is one of the participating teams in the annual J.C.J. Mastenbroek Tournament, hosted by Tex Town Tigers in Enschede.
There, the team will be joined by Alcmaria Victrix, Double Stars Heiloo, Sparks Haarlem, host Tex Town Tigers and from Swizerland, Zürich Barracudas.
The event opens on Saturday at 9 AM, then the three finals will be played on Sunday.
There also will be a 10-team women softball-tournament part of this event.

Mampaey The Hawks, which returned to the big league after the withdrawal of ADO Lakers, is one of four participating teams in the Ringvaart Tournament, organized by RCH-Pinguïns in Heemstede.
Besides The Hawks and host RCH-Pinguïns, the other two teams are Onze Gezellen and Silicon.nu Storks.
The tournament opens on Saturday at 10:30 AM. The finals follow on Sunday.
A 4-team women softball tournament also will be part of the event.

The lone two teams that will not participate in a tournament are reigning champion Curaçao Neptunus and UVV. They will meet each other on Saturday in Vleuten, then again on Sunday in Rotterdam.

The regular season in the Dutch big leaguen opens on Thursday, April 16.
