Croes had advanced to second base on the grounder, but then was eliminated after overrunning it, however, the run already had scored.
For San Marino, lead-off hitter Jack Santora reached base in the first inning via a strikeout-wild pitch, then Jairo Ramos singled with two outs, but was forced out to end the inning.
Hereafter, Rob Cordemans retired eight batters in a row.
Trailing 3-0, San Marino got into scoring position in the top of the fifth inning.
Joe Persichina led off with a single, then Francesco Imperiali walked.
Next, Simone Albanese lined the ball back to Cordemans, who was able to complete a double play at first base.

On Day 2 of the European Cup Tournament in France, L&D Amsterdam Pirates registered an important victory on Wednesday-afternoon (June 3) against T&A San Marino, last years winner of the European Champions Cup.
Amsterdam won 6-0 behind the strong pitching of Rob Cordemans, who went the distance.
