Dutch Junior empty-handed in European Championship Final
Nederlands
OSTRAVA (Czech Republic) -
The Dutch Junior Team (AAA) ended up one run short in the Final of the European Junior Championship in the Czech Republic.
In the all-deciding final on Sunday-evening, the Junior-squad lost 3-2 to defending champion Italy.
Trailing 3-1 in the final at bat, the Orange squad got the bases loaded with one out, then scored its second run on a grounder by Boyd Tuhumury.
But the inning and the game then ended with a strikeout, leaving runners on second and third base.
And with that, the Dutch had to settle for the silver medal, while Italy prolonged its title.
Two years ago, the Dutch Team ended up in third place.
