Dutch Team wins second game on World Port Tournament
Nederlands
ROTTERDAM (Neth.) - The Netherlands Baseball Team also won its second game of the 15th edition of the World Port Tournament Baseball. On Sunday-afternoon, the Orange squad won 10-6 vs. Curaçao, which is now winless after two games. Before Sunday's game, Rotterdam-Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb threw out the ceremonial first pitch, as the tournament was officially opened with this match-up.

The Dutch team has the day off on Monday.

Initially, the Dutch Team again faced an early deficit, as Curaçao scored two runs off of starter Kevin Heijstek.

However, this time, it didn't take long for the Dutch offense to adjust and turn the game its way.

The Orange squad came alongside in the second inning thanks to a double by Quintin De Cuba and single by Shaldimar Daantji.

The 2-2 tie was broken when three runs runs were scored in the fourth. With the bases loaded, a run was scored on a grounder by Nick Urbanus, which was followed by a runscoring error. A single by Daantji then made it 5-2.

A 4-run rally followed in the fifth via a grounder by Dashenko Ricardo, 2-run single by De Cuba and RBI-single by Daantji. In that same at bat, Kevin Moesquit left the game after hitting himself on his foot with a foul ball. With an 0-2 count, pinch-hitter Michael Duursma took over and grounded out.

A single by Urbanus lifted the lead to a comfortable 10-2 in the seventh. However, the Curaçao-squad narrowed the deficit in the final three at bats. Three runs were scored in the seventh off of Mike Bolsenbroek and Berry van Driel. Bolsenbroek started in the inning and got the bases loaded. With one out, he was relieved by Van Driel, who then gave up a 2-out, 3-run double to Raywendly Van Gurp that made it 10-5.

In the eighth, Curaçao scored another run off of Kevin Kelly. Johnny Gregorius, the brother of Major Leaguer Didi Gregorius (New York Yankees) led off with a double, then later scored on a single. But that was it for Curaçao.
