Pioniers scored its first run in the second inning off of starter Jurjen van Zijl.
Quintin De Cuba led off with a single, then scored when Kevin Dirksen followed with a double.
With two outs, Pioniers loaded the bases when Daniel Fernandes and Danny Rombley both walked, but Dirk van 't Klooster then grounded out to end the inning.
The second run was added with two outs in the fourth inning.
After Van Zijl had struckout the first two batters, Fernandes tripled, then Rombley walked for the third time.
Fernandes then scored when Van 't Klooster singled.
In the seventh inning, off of reliever Timo van Ancum, Pioniers increased the lead to 3-0.
With one out, Vince Rooi and Mark-Jan Moorman singled, then the first scored on a 2-out single by Kevin Dirksen.
UVV reached third base only once.
That happened when Dennis De Quint led off the second inning with a walk and moved to third base on a 2-out single by Jordan Illis.
Hereafter, Pioniers-starter Ricardo Hernandez Sanchez retired nine batters in a row.
With two outs in the fifth inning, Jamie Verheyleweghen singled for UVV, then advanced when an outfield-error followed.
He also tried to reach third base, but he was thrown out there to end the inning.
In the eighth inning, reliever Sedley Karel had runners on first and second base with one out, but then the Pioniers-defense turned a double play.

Pioniers registers fourth consecutive shutout

Vaessen Pioniers won 3-0 tonight (Thursday, April 23) at UVV to register its fourth consecutive shutout since the start of the season.
Last year, Neptunus opened the season with three shutouts in a row.
