Amsterdam Pirates settled things quickly this afternoon in Bussum. The team led 7-0 after three innings and went on to finish the 7-inning game in just over two hours. HCAW collected only two basehits off of two pitchers, while Amsterdam hit 14 off three pitchers.

Amsterdam scored its first run in the opening at bat. With two outs, Nick Urbanus reached on an error, then moved to third base on a single by Kenny Berkenbosch and scored on a single by Remco Draijer.

Two runs were added in the next inning. Lead-off hitter Jesse Aussems reached on an error, then Koen Nooij doubled. A single by Patrick Bok then brought in Aussems, while Nooij went on to score on a passed ball.

A 4-run rally in the third inning lifted the lead to 7-0. Remco Draijer led off with a homerun, then Rashid Gerard singled and Jesse Aussems walked. That led to a pitching change, as Giovanni Tensen was relieved by Steven van Groningen. A force out at third base followed, but then Patrick Bok hit a ground-rule double to bring in the next run. Roelie Henrique followed with a 2-run single to make it 7-0.

In the last three at bats of this 7-inning game, Amsterdam added three more runs. In the fifth, a force play-grounder by Michael Duursma led to a run. In the sixth, Jesse Aussems doubled in a run and in the seventh, a single by Kenny Berkenbosch made it 10-0.

Amsterdam-starter Kevin Heijstek retired the first 14 batters he faced. His Perfect Game ended with two outs in the fifth inning when Jarreau Martina lined the ball back to Heijstek. There, it ricocheted off of the pitcher for an infield-hit. Heijstek struckout the next batter to end the inning, then retired the side again in the sixth inning, including two more strikeouts to raise his total to nine.

Robin Schel pitched the seventh inning for Amsterdam against his former team. He gave up an one-out single to Emersson Paula and walked Aldrich Guzman with two outs, but both were left behind. Robin's brother Marco Schel pitched the seventh inning for HCAW.
