Amsterdam Pirates closes series vs. Regensburg with win

REGENSBURG (Germany) -
L&D Amsterdam Pirates closed its 3-game series against Buchbinder Legionäre Regensburg with a 3-2 victory on Sunday-afternoon (March 29).
The game lasted seven innings, as was decided beforehand.

The Amsterdam-squad enjoyed its three days in Regensburg and thanked the Legionäre-club for its hospitality during is stay there.
It was reported that Amsterdam Pirates plans to return again to Regensburg next year as part of its preparations.
In today's game, Amsterdam opened the score with one run in the first inning, then doubled the lead in the fourth at bat.
Regensburg then scored its first run in the bottom of the fourth inning off of Amsterdam-starter Kyle Ward, who was credited with his third win of the exhibition season.
The lefthander was relieved by Dennis Burgersdijk, who threw the fifth and sixth inning in which he held the German opponent scoreless.

Amsterdam added an insurance-run in the fifth inning to make it a 3-1 score.
Regensburg was able to narrow the deficit to 3-2 by scoring a run in the seventh at bat off of new pitcher Robin Schel.
The team of Amsterdam Pirates flew back home on Sunday-evening.
Coming weekend, starting on Friday-evening, Amsterdam Pirates participates in the annual In Memoriam Charles Urbanus Sr. Tournament in Bussum.
Regensburg Legionäre opens the regular season in Germany coming weekend at home against Bad Homburg Hornets.
