He had given up an one-out single to Sharlon Schoop in the first inning, but he was later forced out.
The righthander retired the side in the second inning, but then saw Pirates open the score in the third.
With one out, Max Clarijs and Roelie Henrique both singled.
Hereafter, Clarijs scored when third baseman Dwayne Kemp made a throwing error towards first base after a bunt-single by Sharlon Schoop.
On the error, Henrique advanced to third base, but he would be left behind as next batter Gilmer Lampe grounded into a double play.
While running towards first base, Lampe tripped, fell down, but was able to continue playing.
Neptunus stranded a runner on first base in the fourth, which ended with a nice diving catch by centerfielder Denzel Richardson.
The team was then retired in order again in the fifth by Kevin Heijstek.
Orlando Yntema retired the side in the fourth, then got two baserunners again in the fifth, but avoided giving up runs.
With one out, the righthander walked Niels van Weert and Max Clarijs.
Next, a grounder by Roelie Henrique resulted in two outs and the end of the inning.
On Henrique's grounder, Clarijs was forced out at second base.
Van Weert advanced to third base on the grounder, overrran it and came in a rundown.
During the rundown, an error was made, but in the end, Van Weert was eliminated after all.
Because the play was interrupted by a misplay, this is not recorded as a double play, but two outs were made anyhow, ending the at bat.

It also led to a pitching change, as Nick Veltkamp took over.
The lefthander saw Johnson steal both second and third base, but then got an inning-ending grounder.
Now trailing 2-1, Pirates got another baserunner in the bottom of the seventh when Kenny Berkenbosch singled with one out.
But the inning ended when pinch-hitter Linoy Croes grounded into a double play.
Neptunus also reached base again in the top of the eighth.
Dwayne Kemp led off with a single, but was caught stealing after a pick-off attempt.
Hereafter, Gianison Boekhoudt singled, which brought in new pitcher Mike Groen.
He struckout Dudley Leonora, then got a grounder from Shaldimar Daantji that ended the at bat.

But Dille stranded on second base and so, the score was still only 2-1 when the bottom of the ninth began.
For Amsterdam Pirates, its most productive batters were scheduled to come to bat in the ninth.
